The Columbia Valley Pacific "Okanagan" is a local passenger train that operates between Adams Bay and Panaska, British Columbia.  Some passengers come from the river boats that travel Lake Okanagan and some come from the Great Northern Railroad connection at Adams Bay.  The Okanagan area is also well know as a sportsman's paradise and many tourists enjoy the scenic train ride.  Mail and express are important commodities due to the lack of quality highways and bus service (yet) in the area.

Run the RW_AssetSetup.exe file to install the scenario.  A list of required rolling stock is included as well as a copy of the Work Order.  As always, you may substitute your own rolling stock using utilities such as RW-Tools.  I’ve also included a copy of my map files to help you find your way.

Some might say that the Okanagan has a "relaxed" schedule but that's okay with the residents along the CVP.  Often, the crew is called upon to make "flag stops" (see below).  Station agents along the way issue train orders for "flag stops" as directed by the dispatcher in Columbia.  The Okanagan (and all CVP trains) stops at Yale to get permission from the C.P.R.R. dispatcher to enter its mainline.
 
The Okanagan (OH-kə-NAH-gən) is named after a region in the Canadian province of British Columbia defined by the basin of Okanagan Lake and the Okanagan River. It is part of the Okanagan Country, extending into north-central Washington state.

The Columbia Valley Pacific is one of my favorite routes.  It “feels” like a real railroad and the scenery is beautiful.  There is a good variety of industries to keep operators busy.  I’ve chosen 1949 as my era so I can run steam power.  The Great Northern and Canadian Pacific railroads have made the move to diesel for passenger power.

This package is released as freeware.  You can do whatever you wish with it EXCEPT make money with its use.
