LanLcl Scenario Set v 3.0 for the WCML-North RS 2012 route
The Scenario:
=============
These scenarios replicate the route of the actual Lanark Local as provided by ScotRail for the
morning of 17 April 2012, departing Lanark at 06:23.(Provided as a .pdf) All other passenger traffic are also based on
published timetables for that date. Freight trains have been introduced, but not based on any
actual traffic. You will drive this assignment as far as Glasgow Central Lower Level, where a relief
driver will take this train on to its actual destination at Dalmuir.
Two.rwp installer files are included and differ only by the required rollingstock and player consists
Version : LanLcl_318.rwp installs LNK 0623 Class 318 scenario into the standard scenario menu of WCML
- This is the full version, but requires ( in addition to WCML, ) several re-paint
and freeware files available on UKTrainSim.com and RailworksAmerica.com (see below for additional information.)
Version : LanLcl_166.rwp installs LNK 0623 Class 166 Default - This requires only default equipment. However since the top speed and the
acceleration of this class are reduced, as compared to the above, it may be more challenging to meet the
schedule.
Install
=======
NOTE: If a previous version was installed, you are advised to uninstall prior to installing revised scenario, as the
route revision with RS 2012 makes the previous version inoperative.
====
First obtain the necessary version of this route
This scenario will only install into the "West Coast Main Line North Add-On" route obtained from the
DLC Steam Store. The current price for this route is $39.99 US. And while steep, this may be a good
value due to all of the related scenery and rollingstock that is included with the download.
Next (if running the Class 318 version only,) obtain the necessary Freeware Packs - see the included "equipList.txt"
files for source information.
The scenarios are supplied via two".rwp" files. Start Railworks, but stop on the opening
(splash) page. Along the top of this page are a series of tabs. Select the package manager
tab. Click the "Install" button and select the "LanLcl###.rwp" file you wish to install. Default
The selected Scenario install into the West Coast Main Line North route. NOTE: You may install both scenario versions -
they each have unique identification numbers and names.
Failure of a scenario is almost always due to missing rail equipment. RW_Tools is the best solution
for swapping equipment that is missing. http://www.rstools.info/rw_tools.html
Rev History
v0.5 beta driver and AI complete, no siding rollingstock, no scenery rev.
v1.0 completed siding rolling stock added scenery rev.
v2.0 fixed broken consists seen by some users
v2.1 fix of single consist in Motherwell Yard for single version class 86
v2.5 beta testing for RS 2012 version of WCML
v3.0 current upload fixed for RS 2012 revision of the WCML route
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OPTIONAL : This route is serviced by ScotRail & Virgin Trains UK, Virgin uses the Class 390
equipment, but the Steam DLC Pack does not include the correct paint scheme. A beautiful repaint can be obtained
at UKTrainsim.com. The file required is UKTS_22899_Virgin390.zip
Local service in and around Glasgow is primarily provided by ScotRail. A Multiple Unit Diesel
repaint is available at UKTrainim.com. Its id is UKTS_21406_RW_166_Barbie.zip.
Additional ScotRail locos can be found by searching for UKTS_24679_47461-47541_ScotRail.zip
Of course read the installation instructions carefully before using any of the above. This
author has been successful in using these two .rwp files and Mike Simpson's RW_Tools ( a must for
any serious RW user,) to create a more prototype operating environment.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This scenario set will be particularly rewarding for those who like to "drive" their trains
from the cab.
