In this package are TOFC cars and 48ft Well cars (Double Stack cars) repainted in the livery of Florida East Coast Railway. The TOFC cars are based on the RTTX90 flatcar from the RSC Marias Pass payware route with freeware Truck Trailers by Bernard Lafargue (QcRail). The well cars are based on the Jointed Rails freeware 48ft WellCars brought to Train Simulator by Searchlight Simulations.
FEC Intermodal Cars ReadMe
In this package are TOFC cars and 48ft Well cars (Double Stack cars) repainted in the livery of Florida East Coast Railway, which operates intermodal trains from the Ports of Miami, West Palm Beach, Port Everglades and others North to interchange with NS and CSX at Jacksonville, Fl. FEc has literally hundreds of Well Cars, those in this package are representative of those in use daily.
1. TOFC Cars and Trailers
The TOFC cars are based on the RTTX90 flatcar from the RSC Marias Pass route with Truck Trailers
by Bernard Lafargue (QcRail). The Trailers, which are freeware (courtesy of QcRail), are in the RWA library but are included here for completeness.
The route is available on the Steam platform:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/222561/Train_Simulator_Marias_Pass_Shelby__Whitefish_Route_AddOn/
The TOFC cars will not work without the route being installed.
To Install: Unzip the folder and then open the Assets folder within. Copy the Folder RSC within and drop that
in your folder Railworks\Assets. Open your RSC\MariasPass\RailVehicles\Freight\FlatcarRTTX90 folder and copy
the "Default" folder. Paste this into the newly installed FEC FlatcarRTTX90 folder. Installation of the
TOFC is now complete.
The cars will then appear in the top LH Assets flyout as [RSC] FEC TTX90-01 Flatcar (ACEx1) etc and
[RSC QcR]FEC TTX90-01 Flatcar etc. They are different as the QcR cars have Tautliners and mixed loads not
in the plain RSC sets.
2. 48ft Well Cars - Double Stack cars
These are based on the Jointed Rails 48ft WellCars brought to Train Simulator by Searchlight Simulations. These are available in the free Rolling Stock Pack 01 from the SearchlightSimulation website:
https://store.searchlight-simulations.com/products (part of the Rolling Stock Pack 01 - if you don't have it you
should as it contains excellent useful freight cars and it is free).
To Install: Unzip and open the Assets folder within(if not already done so as above).
Copy the folder SearchlightSimulations and drop that into your Railworks/Assets folder. Installation complete
as thanks to the generosity of Jointed Rails and Searchlight Simulations the.Geo files are included.
The cars will appear in the assets editor as: [JRFreight] 48'Well FEC LD in various configurations and MT.
These are cars freeware and you are free to do with them what you will except make money from them. Use
them at your own volition and liability but enjoy them.
Thanks are due to Bernard Lafargue for his work on and sharing of the Truck Trailers and to
SearchlightSimulations for their bringing the splendid Jointed Rails 48ft WellCars to Train Simulator/Railworks
