The attached scenario, “Two Fine Cars,” is based on a story included in The NATCHEZ ROUTE- A Mississippi Central Railroad Album by David S. Price and Louis R. Saillard.
Mr. Roy Dunlap, General Agent for the Delta Lines in Detroit, Mich., somehow succeeded in having a solid train of automobiles bound for New Orleans routed over the Delta Lines. The train left the Oakland plant at Pontiac, Michigan at 2:00 p.m. on February 4, 1931 via the New York Central railroad. At Cincinnati, the train was handed over to the Louisville & Nashville railroad for the Cincinnati to Memphis segment. At Memphis, the train was received by the Delta Lines and routed (via the Mississippi Route) to New Orleans.
Each car on the train carried a banner reading, "Oakland - Pontiac, Two Fine Cars." Certainly no one in the Delta Lines General Office would argue the point during the lean traffic year of 1931.
This package is released as freeware. You can do whatever you wish with it EXCEPT make money with its use.
