G-Trax GN Cascadian Route Expansion
===================================
Phase 2:
West to the Sound
Skykomish to Everett
The Cascadian West expansion pack for Train Simulator extends the previously released Cascadian route from Wenatchee, through Skykomish, to Everett, thereby complementing the popular Stevens Pass route, which was originally released in 2013. Both the Cascadian and Stevens Pass were developed by the same team of railroad-simulation enthusiasts.
You will need to have purchased and installed the original Cascadian route, available only here at Railworks America, and any subsequent patches, prior to installing this expansion pack.
Please follow this link to find out more about the Cascadian route:
The new files contained in this expansion pack will safely overwrite some of your existing Cascadian files. Also, for best results, the following two DLC packages, available on Steam, should be installed on your system: European Loco & Asset Pack and US Loco & Asset Pack.
If you purchased RailWorks DLC for TS2012 or earlier, chances are you already own these packs. To make sure, look in your RailWorks folder under subfolders Assets\Kuju. If a folder named RailSimulator is present you have the European pack, and if a folder named RailsimulatorUS is present you have the US pack.
No scenarios are included with this expansion pack. Keep an eye on the Railworks America site for new scenarios by G-TraX and other developers.
Installation:
=============
Please note that this add-on won't work unless the original Cascadian route (see above) and its patches have been previously installed.
This route expansion does not replace the original route. Your existing scenarios and equipment will remain in place. However, any modifications you may have done to the route itself (scenery) might get overwritten.
*** Step by step installation instructions ***
1. If you haven't already done so, unzip this archive to a convenient place. The Zip contains this readme file, two JPG image files, and a single folder having the same name as the Zip except with the extension RWP.
2. Find the program Utilities.exe. Utilities.exe can usually be found under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks. Double-click on Utilities.exe to launch it.
3. In Utilities.exe, click on the tab labeled Package Manager, then click on the Install button. That will open a dialog named Load Package which is a typical Windows open-file dialog. Navigate to the RWP file that you unZipped in Step 1, select it and click the Open button.
4. Launch Train Simulator and play the route. You can explore the expansion's territory by starting in Skykomish and heading west, down into the valley.
You can read more details about the West Expansion of the Cascadian route in its manual, which can be found in PDF form (Cascadian West Manual.pdf) in your Train Simulator Manuals folder.
