Ge 44Tons diesel shunter - in classic Queen Mary Island RR paint scheme
=====================================================================================
CREDITS:
Thanks DTM for creating the original GE44Ton - 3D model and base textures. The base GE44 Tons model is part of the
RailWorks\Assets\DMT\GE44Ton-SP\RailVehicles\Southern Pacific\Engine Package and it is needed for this new add-on
to function properly with Train Simulator. If need be, it may be acquired at Steam under :
https://store.steampowered.com/app/222550/Train_Simulator_Southern_Pacific_GE_44_Loco_AddOn/?curator_clanid=958135
or

Note : Apply the same procedure if you have any other GE44Ton livery from DTM...
QcRail for remapping and repaint
The Queen Mary Island Railway Route Add-On needed a few small switchers to provide flexibility and additional efficiency.
Aside from yard work, the Ge44 Tons seemed appropiate to perfom in interchange yard duties - specifically at various industrial complexes, such as the smelting and foundry Industies at Grand Bend where electric steeplecabs are powerless.
It offers a well detailed cab for operations and, as of this date, it seems to be well adapted to the QMI locomotives
that roam this maritime island.
Since the original Ge44 Tons shunter is a payware product from DTM, it implies that each version of the QMI switcher be structured within a unique and seperate file folder to preserve two of the 3d model nomenclature, ie GE 44Ton_SP.GeoPcDx for the engine 3D model and
GE 44Ton_SP_Cab.GeoPcDx for the views within the engine cab.
Now you can proceed with installing the QMI GE44Tons engine.
Simple Installation to TSClassic: use Train Simulator Utilities and Package Manager to upload to TSClassic the Ge44 Tons QMI-14-15.rwp file.
Additional steps to complete the installation :
For the Ge44Tons engine to install and function, you need to install the original 3d file from your
..Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\DTM\GE44Ton-SP\RailVehicles\Southern Pacific\Engine\GE 44Ton_SP_Cab.GeoPcDx
to each of the two new folders ...
..Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\DTM\GE44Ton-QMI\RailVehicles\QMI14\Engine\GE 44Ton_SP.GeoPcDx
..Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\DTM\GE44Ton-QMI\RailVehicles\QMI15\Engine\GE 44Ton_SP.GeoPcDx
Now, a similar attention must be paid to each of the Cab View files folder. thus, install the original 3d file from ... i.e.:
..Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\DTM\GE44Ton-SP\RailVehicles\Southern Pacific\CabView\GE 44Ton_SP_Cab.GeoPcDx
to
..Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\DTM\GE44Ton-QMI\RailVehicles\QMI14\CabView\GE 44Ton_SP_Cab.GeoPcDx
..Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\DTM\GE44Ton-QMI\RailVehicles\QMI15\CabView\GE 44Ton_SP_Cab.GeoPcDx
Now, you can enjoy your new Ge 44Tons on the scenic Queen Mary Island.
Following installation, use the In-game Installer and to insert the Ge 44 Tons switcher into your QMI route using the Scenario Editor;
Make sure that DTM and GE44Ton-QMI options are checked to activate the Ge-44 Tons locomotive.
You will find the engine listed as : "[DTM] GE 44Ton QMI-14" and "[DTM] GE 44Ton QMI-15"
Note: In the download file folder, .jpg images should give you a preliminary idea of the switcher's appearance.
Each engine comes in two versions; one with a driver and the second without a driver. This will give you the option of
driving a double GE44Ton consist and varying the choice of your lead locomotive.
