About these 'one time only' scenario problems I find them very annoying because sometimes I had been driving like an hour or so and it's very tedious to do it all over again not knowing if the thing is going to get solved by itself. Well, hope in your case it does! But certainly, it always does

If it's a long scenario it pays to save progress at intervals , say every 15 min, if you can remember.
Do you know about using Command Line Instructions which can be useful for checking scenarios? For example "Enableasynckeys" lets you play the scenario at up to 5x the speed. and "follow ai train" allows you to follow a player train, in the outside camera view. driven as an AI train ( or follow any other AI train).
