The cab car. That's the engineer's foot resting on the fusses and torpedoes box. I thought that was great because I rest my foot up the same way when simming.

A little UP action yesterday in LeFox Illinois. I have been told 71 trains a day go on this track not counting Metra.

Someone used the phrase of headlights brighter than the sun. Yup.

Veterans unit, a surprise visit of Amfleets from California, and the circus train with NS SD70ACe #1031 (So close to hurritage) and BNSF C40-8W #915. the signal beidge in the Amfleet pictures is from 1940s era when the Pere Marquette ran steamers through town. I'm trying to get it as much as possible til CSX brings it down.

Bloody Noses still survive in the desert and in the CA mountains. I saw this one in Fernley NV recently. Faded but still proud.
I also saw a SP, Dash 9 in a lead consist going over Donner pass one day earlier. Unfortunately I couldn't get the camera out fast enough for that one.
These locals like the one below, come racing home out of the desert to Sparks NV, near sunset, like stock returning to the barn in the evening.
Because of a rare and early rain there is no dust being kicked up, belying the speed this little local is running.

I caught Pacific Harbor Lines #70 taking a break this afternoon:







She's usually shunting those intermodals in the background on weekends when I drive past to and from the USS Iowa. #61 is usually working this spur but haven't seen her in a few weeks.
