secure website https: and nonsecure http:

I have noticed that there are 2 versions of this website secure and not secure. You can tell if it is not secure in the address bar with a lock symbol with a red diagonal line through it or not (Firefox, other browsers may be different). The prefix for the secure is https: for the non-secure it is http:
I have a desktop short cut to RWA and in the properties, I have changed the prefix to https:, that way I always go to the secure page. When you get an advisory email indicating that there is a new response to a thread you are watching, the links in the email directs you to the non-secure site. Is there any way to change this. Most people prefer a secure website by default.
Another interesting thing is that you can enter the secure site but when you click on forums it goes to the connection is not secure.

In my case http://railworksamerica.com shortcut is the one I have been using for years. and now it will also get a "Not secure" flag in the left side of the browsing bar, sometimes in black, sometimes in red. So I have also required to edit my shortcut to use https.
But there is a further issue. I enter the main RWA gate via https://railworksamerica.com with "Secure" site, but when I navigate from there to forum links and click any topic in the forum (Board Index) or the "active posts" link, it will send me to a http://railworksamerica.com/ instead of https. So now I am required using two different shortcuts.

In some cases the "Not Secure" flag with http appears only when I reply.

While this is not the same subject, I have a further problem. When uploading an image to any thread in the forum, it does it very slowly and sometimes it freezes at some progress % value. But yesterday evening I determined it happens only with one of my two Internet providers. I don´t think now that this is caused by the Non-secure flagging. No idea what is causing that.
The site used to work well for that purpose.

And there is also the file search issue (white page) that it´s been there for some time now. I am using the full site search bar to look for files and in most cases it works.
