!*salute*!

This is presumably an official ALCo photo with 844 ready to be delivered to UP. Noticed the covered/protected headlight and numberboards.
Also interesting to note is the "social distance" between the men wearing hats and caps in this photo.

(and no skirting around the stacks? !*don-know!* I'd say just ignore that) This, looks weird.

Indeed, those exposed stacks look weird to me too.
The smoke deflectors are perfectly flat here still.

Also, notice the amount of superelevation!

Back to topic, 844 went through quite a few small modifications during her service life probably, making any model a compromise.
However, with a sensible approach to "kit building", any variation can be produced by Mr. Rennie.

Yes, right after completion in Schenectady NY is that first one (all glass jewelery covered for the journey to Omaha) !*salute*!

The smoke deflectors had not been on the locomotive for very long at all in that wierd one. It had only run a few trips without them, so hey are very new.

I've added the driving wheels' brakes to the animation.

I want to say, I don't think I've ever anticipated anything for a PC simulation/game more, than I am for your new FEF. This will make all other RSC steamers under par. Except for your lil Connie of course. !!*ok*!!

Thanks Joe !!*ok*!!

Seeing 844 thundering over Sherman Hill, Donner Pass or Marias Pass is something I'm looking forward to too! I watch videos of her every now and then to get inspiration. Something I'm going to really have to go to town on is the whistle - I absolutely love it!

That sounds great!

When it gets nearer to the time, I'll try making one too and compare it with yours.

How are we going to be expected to get any work done?? I can see myself just sitting in the yard, in outside view, playing with the brakes :D , not to mention injector, sander and lights. RW's most "interesting" scenerio - sitting twiddling, where the object is to sit in the yard and play with all the controls *!lol!*

Beautiful work....

*!!thnx!!*

That's the idea *!!wink!!*

I do like to go up close and see the detail in things. I think there are quite a lot of details in the Connie that the majority of users probably haven't found yet (unless they go poking about under and inside the frames), but it's nice knowing that they're there.

Thanks Grant!
