I'm most looking forward to seeing the new lower poly distant object technique that increases draw distance.

The tracks look alot like Donner's. I wish they'd use the scalerail type of track that they used for Sherman.

This is the only thing that bugs me about Donner - not that they didn't use ScaleRail, but that they didn't get the dimensions correct for the track. SR is based around 133lb rail (a common US weight), while the track in Donner is around 60lb (or less). Looks silly with such heavy locomotives running over what amounts to narrow gauge rail!

Holy Farglesnot!! That's Cutbank! Anticipating this may make me forget about Western Lines of Scotland (But not for long).

Does anyone know if this is Cutbank or Cut Bank? I've seen it written both ways and I'd like to be sure I've got it right.

(P.S. The best commendation I can give for the route is that I've never fallen asleep driving it, and I can't say that about any other route I've done. And even if every single asset was taken directly from Donner Pass it still wouldn't really feel like DP because it's Marias Pass. The clue is in the name, I think... )

I can't agree with you Bob. When I got v1 of Donner it didn't feel like the Sierra's and I know I was not alone in this. I filed my complaint and was happy when v2 rolled out. A route is more than just a name. HSC, Donner, and Marias Pass have a life, environment, and history of their own. For a route to be successful they must respect (I am not saying be exactly like) the real thing.

Assuming the Chamber of Commerce for that fair city knows what their name is is is Cut Bank, two words.

I totally understand where you're coming from PapaXpress and I didn't make it clear that I was coming from a completely different angle. Over 90% of my time in TS2013 is spent in routes which have no scenery whatsoever, and I was solely referring to the differences in driving experiences between the two routes. I am a mere navvy, you see, and I'm only interested in what the route is like to drive.

More than likely they'd include the ES44AC with the route given that it's pretty much 'common' power these days, same as SH. A new P42DC would probably be worth the price tag.
