When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade! Maybe this is a sign from above telling you to learn German. And once you do.....you'll not only be able to understand your game, but you might even be able to translate to us why Germans love David Hasselhofff's singing! !*roll-laugh*!

All kidding aside.... I have no clue. But send RSC customer support the question and you might get an answer. I mean... I asked them "Are the SD70ACe and DD40AX packs on steam coming back?" and they emailed me back telling me "They will be coming back to steam as soon as they are ready". Whatever "ready" means. They say it like they are in the shop for repairs and will be back when they've fixed them. *!!wink!!*

Yep, tried my Sherman Hill route today, it's in German. Several members in the Railworks section of the Steam Forum have the same problem. I sent RSC a note. My new favorite route is messed up. !*not-ok*!

*Update: Well, it looks like the Official-fix for this problem is out now, so there's no more need to use the temporary-fix that was provided here. Cheers!

Actually, once you fix the coupler issues, the trains behave a lot more realistically.

You're welcome guys. Glad to be of help.
Who knows when they will give us the "official fix", so I thought I'd try and provide some people with an alternative fix in the meantime.

As for how it got messed it? I don't know. I guess someone on RSC's end thought the route's name was "German Hill", and thus thought everything should be in German language for it too. *!lol!*

Thank you Don for the file backup's. !!*ok*!!

I thought RSC had a beta test team? How does things like this happen? It should not happen if the software was tested before it was released! I'm starting to get really tired of this fix it yourself Scenery Simulator !*not-ok*!

Thanks, Don (and Mark) the fix works great! I think RSC owes you one. Then again, they may get it backwards and say you owe them. !*roll-laugh*!

Let's keep it real here. The coupler issues are only PART of the problem when it comes to the physics. Load up Cajon Pass in free-roam where you start in Victorville. Pick the loco of your choice and ditch the cars connected to it for convenience. Run the loco all the way back to Barstow and try to pick up the line of cars on track 24 of the yard. You won't even get close enough to attach your coupler to it cuz it explosively derails the line of cars instantly when you get within about a car's length . That's one of the many issues with the physics.

Speaking of physics... I've discovered that rail assets have what I like to call a "Physics Bubble" surrounding them. I discovered this when trying to make behemoth size monster trains with a HUGE amount of cars connected together. Cuz when I'm approaching a super long line of cars to couple to, my framerate drops from like 30-40fps down to 4fps according to fraps. I used fraps to get a FPS count cuz Railwork's counter won't show below 14fps. It looks weird for your loco to go into bullet-time when you get close to a huge line of cars when it was just speeding along earlier before it.

Then once I'm connected, my framerate pops up to a whopping 7-8fps and pretty much stays at that while I'm pulling the train. Even turning TSX-OFF and every setting to off or the lowest it could go, didn't change this fact. So MIN or MAX setting, you will hit this bullet-time. At least on my rig. It's this "Physics Bubble" I'm hitting when the cars on track 24 derail before I touch them as well.

Then of course there is the unrealistic acceleration rates with long heavy trains behind them....and... well I could go on, but the point was made. *!!wink!!*

Yeah... he's gonna get an email from RSC informing him that by making that fix, he unknowingly became a member of the Railworks Partner Program and that RSC now have ownership of it!! !*roll-laugh*!

Gentlemen. RWA is supposed to be a positive experience for the Rail Sim enthusiast. This incessant bitching about RW will cause you to be deleted. If you want to do that go somewhere else please.
