Donner Pass Enhancement Pack?

The wording of that concerns me. To me that sounds an awful lot like "marketing speak" for something I'm going to have to pay for.
I hope I'm wrong about that. Thoughts anyone?

IIRC they've mentioned that it will be a free update to everyone who owns the DP addon.

I have the same concerns. They better bloody upgrade me for free. I paid full-price for the route and got next to nothing out of it.

If you are a storm chaser you will get something out of it. Just choose Sparks in free roam and try moving some cars around the yard. You might get to see a huge invisible tornado suck train cars into the sky and drop them back to earth! That's the railworks team's unintended Easter egg! !*roll-laugh*!

Just curious, but has RSC charged anybody for an upgrade/update to something they already purchased since moving to Steam? Before somebody tries to say the base game, it is my understanding that the upgrade from RW2 to RW3:TS2012 was free just like the upgrade from TS2012 to TS3013. One only paid for the routes that RSC packaged with the upgrades if you wanted the routes at a discount and didn't want to wait for a sale or for them to be available individually.

ive never gotten charged for any sort of upgrade of an already purchased product. RSC said multiple times that updates are free of charge.

Donner Pass update, Donner Pass patch. These would be terms a developer would use that would be indicative of the release of software designed to fix a product with bugs. An enhancement pack would normally imply a product that you would purchase in addition to a base product to, well .... enhance a product that is working properly and as intended, but would gain extra features with the purchase of the pack. Maybe it was a poor choice of words on the part of RSC and in fact current Donner Pass customers will get the patch for free. OTOH, as the title implies, maybe they don't see it as a patch but instead as an "enhancement", in which case we will all have the pleasure of paying twice to get this route to work properly in the first place. Time will tell .....

From the original announcement, which unfortunately I can't find any more, but here is a link to a copy and paste of it from these forums:

http://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5034

Where can I get it?
The DPEP will be automatically installed via Steam for all Donner Pass owners.

What will it cost?
The DPEP will be free to all Donner Pass owners.

So I would hope and assume that this is still the case.

Has RSC ever charged anyone for any upgrade? Have they stated multiple times before multiple updates when multiple people have asked that they will never charge for an update after you've bought the product?

I rest my case.

Thanks for the link to that previous post nigel. That discussion took place before I signed on around here, so this is the first time I read that information. That seems to clear up their intentions with the pack release. So, no charge to previous owners it is! !!*ok*!!

Excellent point, but that ruins the chronic complainers' day. !*cheers*!
