*sigh*
OK. So I decided i would try it one more tome. I first used the asset exe or whatever is called. Then, I went into the railworks folder on the zip and copied all three folders to my railwoks folder. The SD70MACs and ACEs models showed up in the editor, and I thought "OMG! I fixed it......"

Wrong. !*not-ok*!

They showed up in the editor, but not in game in the scenario I used. So I am now doing another verify game cache as I type this. I am just giving up totally.

I guess its something within the sound pack that messes it up. Ill have to pass on this awesome sound pack man.

There is nothing wrong within the pack. I'll bet anything that its the extracting program your using. I remember a friend and I years ago downloaded a engine sound pack, and he got his to work, but not me. After a lot of what do you have that I don't, it was discovered that my copy of Winwar didn't open the package correctly. There were no sound files at all. Download 7-Zip, and try again. There is no reason why you can't have this addon, if you want it.

I have win rar. I am launching the asset. exe thing from the zip file its self. I don't know if that is causing a problem.
But let me try 7-zip and try again. :D

It might be. Extract the package to your choice and run the asset setup from there. Make sure the path is correct. If this doesn't work, if you PM your e mail, I'll send you one bin file from my copy of the game, and I'll bet it will show up. We'll get it yet.

Nope Noel, then this is your problem !*hp*! you can't launch any exe (from any program) from within a zip file, it simply doesn't work. Follow the instructions of Readme: first of all, unzip the file using the option "Extract here" (Win 7), and then (only then) run the RW_AssetSetup.exe. WinRAR must be version 3.14 or later. I use currently 7-Zip. In any case use the option "Extract here".

Some more details about what may be going wrong with you:
* Windows 7 has a feature to read the zipped files like if they were unzipped, but in fact they are still zipped.
* For example you can see “.pic” files, read documents (.doc(x)) files) etc., but you CANNOT run any sort of install *.exe file because it won't work.
* In fact, you will see the “RW_AssetSetup.exe” running with a successful message at the end, but the problem is that the pack wasn't installed correctly at all, because the exe file did not extract and copy the files into the \railworks folder.
* However, you can use the “Extract Files/Here” function(s) in Windows Explorer and this will UNZIP the files and allow a correct installation.

Fingers crossed.

Intriguing. Let's try again.
Noel, I have written detailed instructions below. Please follow them to the letter.

1- Check the downloaded zip file. You should have SD70_10_EngineSoundAndTotalLightingEnhancementPack.zip at 118 620 KB.
2- Right-click on the zip file, select "Extract all" in the menu.
3- In the "Select a Destination and Extract Files" window, check the "Show extracted files when complete" checkbox, then click on the "Extract" button.
4- A small window should appear, titled "Copying 279 items (339 MB)".
5- When this is complete, a new window opens, showing 6 items: 2 folders and 4 files.
6- Double-click on the file "RW_AssetSetup.exe". If you get a security warning, click on "Run".
7- The Routesetup window opens. The "Railworks Path" text box should show the path to your eailworks game folder. In my case it is "i:\steam\steamapps\common\railworks" but it will be different for you. If this is incorrect or blank, click on the "....." button, and navigate until you find your railwors folder. Check the textbox again and make sure it shows the correct path before you continue with step 8.
8- Click on "Install to Railworks". Installation takes a second or two.
9- A black window opens, showing the results of the installer trying to empty the blueprint cache. This may take some time. Just wait.
10- The black window closes, and a small window opens saying "Your package has been installed". Click on "OK".
11- You may get a new window with a warning: "This program might not have installed correctly". Ignore this by clicking on "Cancel".

Another thing you can check is this.

Look inside your Railworks folder, is there another folder called "railworks"?

If there is, it could be your "missing" files are in that folder.

I've run into the problem of the installer sometimes creating a railworks folder inside my railworks folder.

I bought the SD70 Pack, the first one, and I installed it and it worked. So I guess you need both SD70 Addons or this pack won't work. Great sounds krellnut! *!!thnx!!*

Thats what I have been saying since the beginning **!!bang!!** Yet krellnut kept saying no no no you dont need pack 1 !*hp*!

No indeed, Brian.

I tested the pack separatedly in an installation with only Pack01 and also in a installation with only Pack02 (includes Pack03), and did work. Other users with only Pack02 (and Pack03 which comes along) didn't have the problem. !DUH!

You also insisted that Krellnut had messed the SD70 horn (was untouched by him) but when you released your Mega Horn Pack you recognized that default SD70 horn is built in a different way that you didn't (still don't) understand, and therefore even you couldn't mod a horn for it. *!!wink!!*

Not to mention that you already had said that compressor sound was wrong, and they were recorded live (in person by Krell) from real and original GEVOs (many of them) with a high quality microphone set. Just refreshing your memory...

And last, but no least, I'm very glad that Noel got the pack working. Have fun, Noel. !!*ok*!!

Cheers,
Doc.

Ah! *!twisted!* "some" users, is better stated... !!*ok*!! but it's not related to the pack, I went into the codes deeply and there is no reason (in any script) demanding/refering all packs at once. In the other hand, as warned in the readme, to play an engine you have to own the related pack (01, 02 or 03), nothing else, nothing new, once they are payware.

Thank you, *!!wink!!*
