Unread postby valleyforge » Wed Apr 18, 2012 3:32 pm

Hi,

I am trying to find a single or double road loco shed that would house a SD40-2 or ES44AC but i can't find one anywhere,

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Roger.

I might build one, do you have any pictures of one?

Hi,

Have a look at the assets that shipped with the GN Butte Div. route. It comes with a model of GN's Shelby Engine House, a three-stall brick building. An SD40 should fit in it.

The model of the engine house is only an MSTS conversion, so it looks a bit basic, and it is also a bit flawed, the faces of the interior and exterior are inverted, so the lighting looks a bit weird. One of the many things I need to fix on the route. Apart from that it works okay.

Cheers,
Michael

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the info,

There are two sheds that were good in MSTS, one was a double road and that was in Canton/Suddenly and the single one that was a good model was the one in the A & 0 Route by V scale if my memory serves me right! both of them would make good models for RW3 i think, the trouble is i no longer have MSTS on my PC anymore otherwise i could have taken a picture of them,

Hopefully we will see what jpetersjr can do for us.

Cheers,

Roger.

Hello.

Tomorrow I'll have some time so I'll build a single shed then. I'll release it as a single and perhaps also a double shed if there isn't yet one available for the sim.

Have been busy recently with big downtown buildings, but a shed will be fairly quick to build and won't be any trouble.

I'm thinking of a simple vintage shed for the game.

What do you think of this shed.

Now all I have to figure out is how to make my windows transparent in 3d crafter.

Use the TrainGlass.fx filter in 3DC and then borrow the glass.TgPcDx from the GP38-2.

I am trying to build a proto-typical route that goes through Dunsmuir, CA. The mallet shed there has a double peaked roof and I have not found something like it to use. I am trying to base my route in the middle to late 50's. I have a photo of it taken in 1959 and another taken in modern day. If someone knows of where I can get a model like this please let me know. I have a 3d program but do not know how to make things for railworks, especially getting the scale right.
