Actually, that's the exact shade of yellow that's on it right now.

Giving a unit that number is just inviting disaster!!

How does this look?
I was waiting for someone to say something about that.
I've also just talked to Machinist. Once I get the paint job done he's going to give the locomotive a few enhancements before release.

I think it looks fine, it's an older weathered SD40-2. And I'll take crazy 8's any day!

Missing numbers on display, and please use those of SD40-2 Black if possible (I guess you are already using the Black as model, huh?).
And maybe the roof a bit darker (or more weathered), similar to the body?

The numbers aren't there yet because I have to make them. That's the final step. Anyway, here's my first attempt at adding weathering to a repaint:
