Why not make a route based on that YouTube?

If God had intended for man to fly, He wouldn't have given us the railroads.

I'm making a fictional shortline , HSM Co. I'll try to release a beta soon.

I really want to get the closed in feeling while running at 15 MPH.

Well then the Montour is just what you're after. !!*ok*!!

Seriously, if you haven't tried the MC&SA, you should. It's just what you describe. A 1920's shortline in the East Texas pineywoods with small yards (and lots of loading oppotunities) on each end, and single-track hemmed in running in between. And he's updated it for 2012.

I grew up near the Montour, but that was during the time of the Montour decline. They were a busy railroad hauling lots of coal around Southwest Pennsylvania.

I lived in East Texas for a number of years, and Michael captured the feel quite well. Something he seems to do regularly. I also lived in Wyoming for several years, and both his Big Horn Sub, but especially his new GN-Butte subdivision also do a great job of getting the feel of the place right. I return to the MC&SA regularly though. Best shortline route in RW that I've round so far.

Yeah, Bay of Quinte! How did I forget Bay of Quinte!? Like someone on another thread here, I think I may have too many routes! And there are at least half a dozen super looking NA routes in the works right now here on RWA. I'm going to have to quit my day job soon!

If you don't mind Brit routes, any of UKTS' challenge winners are excellent short routes though you may have to create your own scenarios.

If you don't have them, check out All Aboard's various offerings as well, though they are payware.
