Maybe the cause of superelevation which is heavily used on this route? Would be interesting to know why and where.

I know that the top of the Horseshoe Curve itself is the cause of a lot of my AI and driver consist tilts, even if no other train is on the curve.

I'm going to try it again today. Luckily I saved just a few miles before the "accident." I was pulling a bit against the brakes at the time to get back up to track speed there (high 20s). I'll try to be careful of that. I didn't want to dump the brakes completely as it's still a 2.6% grade or something like that where I was.

Okay, I've tried it three more times from my save point. It derails every time when NS4307 starts to pass my train. This is the train that derails the NS4319 as well. I took that train out to test it. That's how I got this far. I think there's something wrong with NS4307. Or, I don't know, but in my game, no train seems to be able to pass that NS4307 without derailing. And it's not even on the next track over from me! I got a consist tilt message the first two times, but I was just coasting down the hill with no throttle under minimal set. So, the third time, I pulled the train to a stop and just waited for NS4307 to come. As it started to pass, AI collision derailment.

So, I know quite a few people have this set, but may not have played this particular scenario. Anyone able to finish it? I'd like to figure out what's causing this, as it's not a driver error, and I suspect it may happen more on this route if we don't get to the bottom of it. Something funny is going on, though, as I have run other scenarios on HSC with long trains passing just one track over without issue. Could it be the wagons being used in this one? Any ideas?

I would start experimenting with NS4307 in RWTools:
1- remove it completely;
2- remove all cars and leave the engine;
3- remove half the cars, then the other half;

etc., until you find the problem. Each test being done on a clone of the original scenario.
Over the hill and gathering speed

Good idea. Doug sent me a version without 4307. I was thinking I'd clone the original and try just the locos, but I think trying it with fewer cars is a good idea too. There may be a limit on how many cars HSC can handle. I know Doug doesn't have these issues at all. I'm still curious if anyone else does.
