Baby steps...

To create a more realistic morning in the free-roam scenario for the LINC, I wanted the BN shuttle to drop loads and depart with empties as the scenario begins.

The scenario:
You've used LINC #81 to bring the empties and outgoing loads down to RYE junction with the BN, and are sitting having your second cup of coffee at 9AM when the BN shuttle brings your loads for the day in. The shuttle drops a caboose on the North BN Main to foul the signal and drops off your loads. You exchange papers, and the BN pulls the empties back out onto the main, picks up the caboose, and backs back down to the Vancouver yard.

I have gotten the last phase to work. by having the BN switcher connected to the outgoing, and the caboose spotted on a marked (siding) track section, it will pull the outgoing rake onto the main, reverse and pick up the caboose. Then it moves South into a portal and vanishes.

Anything else seems to fail, I tried to have the switcher sitting in front of the drop, then move and pick up the outgoing, but it fails with an AI collision. All the pickups are on marked sidings, and are in place when the scenario starts.

Does anyone have something I could try? If not, I'll leave it as it is.

Don't know if this can help:
In the "The Champion" scenario for HSC, right at the start, as soon as you can take control of your loco, jump on free camera and watch GP7 #8802 creeping in picking up (quite deftly, I must say) a consist on "C Wwd Classification Yard 2".

If that's what you want, clone the scenario and open it in the editor to see how RSC has done it.
Over the hill and gathering speed
