Another New Guy

With lack of a better place to put this, I figured it should go here.

Hello, community of Railworks America! I've lurked here for a few days, but I haven't posted until now, as you can see. I'm not new to the Railworks Scene in general, I can be found frequently on UKTrainsim as "BenBlairL", and I've uploaded a few routes to Trainsim.com (Under the name "Kentlewis",), however I'm not active in the forums and I haven't posted a file there since August 2010-ish. I figured that I should join a forum who's community is more in my region and less. . . foreign? At the lack of a better word.

I mainly create routes, while my first weren't so great (Eg Emerald Coast Line, why did I ever think to upload that?) I'm known for some of my better routes (Brighton-Woolsworth, Northern Catt Springs, The Kalm Line ring a bell to anyone?). I don't stick to one area of building, I'm literally all over the map (Several UK and US routes, one attempted Chinese route, countless, unreleased attempts at a good German Route). I do fictional everything, although I generally base my routes off of real areas. I've also created some scenario packs, but those are failures in my mind and I only make scenarios for routes of my own.

So, I hope to post here often, and maybe upload a few things to the library. I've got a WIP route right now, and no, I'm not telling you what it is until I'm ready to release. !!bang!!

Welcome aboard to RWA.
I make fictional-based routes & scenarios for RailWorks myself, and independent Developers like us, we tend to be our own worst Critics. Learning and using the oft times fussy RailWorks editors can be time-consuming, daunting and a steep learning curve that not everyone wants to learn how to do or has time for. So don't be too hard on yourself.
We all have room for improvement, but the main thing is to just try and have fun with it. And if you stick with it, in time your skills and knowledge grows. If you share any of your projects with others, you'll find that many people that try it will appreciate and enjoy it too.

And don't worry much about the nay-saying "rivet-counter" types out there that tend to expect something-for-nothing, as most times those that complain the most usually contribute the least. It's your time and work you pour into making your projects that sometimes people don't quite realize what goes into making them. But like the old saying goes, "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time". Just smile and carry on. :D

Cheers! *&!welcome!&*

Thank you- The Rivet Counters group have never bothered me (Except once *!rolleyes!*), and nice to see someone from UKTS active here. I've seen a few people I recognize from UKTS (One of which quit the site- you should all know who and why).

Thanks for the warm introductions so far.

*&!welcome!&* Admiral! Hmm, interesting screen name, reminds me of Jules Verne for some reason. I ramble sometimes so forgive and old fart. !!jabber!!

I'm just a driver. And sometimes a beta tester for my friend Don among one or two others. What all you third party designers create, to me anyways, is kinda like magic. Without all of you, RW would just not be worth the time or the $$$ for me.

So, welcome! I look forward to seeing some of your work. You should post links to what you already have! !*salute*! !!*ok*!!

Fortunately, for the most part, the greater majority of any feedback I've got from people in the RailWorks Community has been quite friendly, positive and supportive. And I find RWA here to be one of the more friendly and welcoming places to hang-out in that regards. And also, I don't mind any constructive-criticism that's meant in a positive way.

I'm not going to name any names, but, I have also had a few people saying outright lies, insults and slander directed at me and my projects (some publicly, and some privately). I've even gotten some "hate-mail" before, and some threats too. In those cases, it's really hard to understand why some people can even act that way. Though I don't worry about that, nor do I want to waste my time getting caught-up in some petty senseless arguments. So, like I say, even when I encounter any nay-saying "rivet-counters" who seem to want to just spread lies and insults, cause grief and arguments, I just try to smile and carry on. :D

Welcome to Railworks America.

I'm a freeware scenery building.

At the moment I'm working on several large big city buildings for the game.

Perhaps these later will fit in a spot on your routes. Yet, unreleased at the moment, but when I finish the set I'll release all buildings as freeware. I must say that it will be a while before the set is released.
