Hi,

Please let me know about any scenery glitches. I'll get them fixed for the next revision.

On the Baldy Branch, north of Ute Park, it's primarily mining related. Up on Baldy Mountain, there are copper ores laced with gold. The ore is brought down from Baldy Town (currently represented by the return loop) to the Miranda Stamp Mill, where it is unloaded and crushed and sluiced. The end result is refined gold and copper slurry. Gold goes out on a secure boxcar or combine. Slurry goes out in tanker cars.

So between Baldy Town and the stamp mill, gondolas or hoppers. GreatNortherner's gondolas can have gravel loads, which I use to represent the copper/gold ore. Between Ute Park and the stamp mill, the tankers and the occasional combine. I'm using a Shay on the Baldy Branch, it being based at Ute Park.

Then the tankers go out to the East through Cimarron.

I'm going to submit what I call a work order generator to the file library soon.

on the loop at the park the track is messed up, just go take a look at the rails on the loop and you will see what i mean.

If you're referring to the return loops on the west end of the route, yeah, I didn't care much about them as they aren't part of the future for the route. I tried to hide them behind a screen of trees.

I just took my first ride on the Cimarron & Pacific and I was impressed. The scenery reminded me of the D&RGW around 1935. The C&P is a great route and I'm looking forward to writing some scenarios.

That's very good news. Will the updated version to be released soon be a standalone install, or should the original version be installed first? Will the updated version use the new 2012 lighting, etc? I didn't see any mention in the .pdf. Sure looks nice in the pics anyway.

I used to live in this area and look forward to railroading this new version!

It will be standalone. I hadn't thought about 2012 lighting. I'm pretty much non-technical in this stuff, but I'll look into it. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Gary,

Wow! WOOWW!!! !*brav*! **!!bow!!**
I just read your preview PDF document, thank you! thank you! thank you! This is fascinating stuff!
Looks like the new version of the C&P will be a massive extension of version 1. The screenshots in the PDF look simply outstanding.

I'll have so much fun with this one. Thank you!

Cheers,
Michael

Thanks for the comments. One thing for sure, this will be a test of framerates and asset blocks, because I have used hundreds and hundreds of them.

Funny, at one point I did an experiment, creating a small asset block with 5 million units of grass in it. it brought everything to a standstill. Backed off that one.

Wow. This brings back some memories. I did one of my 50 milers at Philmont with my Troop. Mt. Baldy was one of the more unique mountain tops I have visited.
