Is this sound pack only applicable to the SD40?

It could be used on others if you really want to by changing the .proxyxml files to match the other locomotives sound files. Were you thinking of the DDA40X?

Not especially, I'm just wondering what prototypical EMD locomotives made those sounds.

You can't get them to work in which way?

as in i can only get it to work on the default SD40-2's, and the DLC SD40-2's from RW2 are giving me problems. i drop the files in, and have them renamed to the proper name....ex: change SD40-2.file to Class SD40-2. file since the DLC locos have the word class infront of the name. unfourtunatly all i get is....well no sound at all anymore?!?!

Hmm, I will have to look into that.

Wow, nice job with these!

Could I ask for a tweak? can you add some pitch shift variation to the engine/other looping sounds? that way you'll desynchronise multiple units and be able to hear all of them, rather than have them just add to the same sound. In RW2 days I used to add/remove a few rpm to trailing engines, but now they look after their own audio you can't do that :(

Just needs a reasonable amount of pitch shift, or you'll just get a phasing effect ( that wooshing jet-doppler sound )

One last thing; can you hear the traction motors in the cab on a real SD40?

Simer4 you are epic!!

I changed all the DLC SD40's just by subtituting the Audio folders - did the BN Green, ATSF, wide , high , Portland ones etc. So far any I have tried work fine with the new sounds which by the way breathe new life into the SD40.

Very many thanks for these sounds.

Thank you all! Just to let all of you know, a second part to the pack will be released some time in the near future. It includes specific horns for the DLC, and I am trying a new technology out that I know you people will love!

SD40 SOUND PACK PART 2 VIDEO!

http://youtu.be/JJ0OFYRP4IU

A new horn technology in the works, but almost done! Just down to getting fading correct!

Also, horn loudness will not go higher than it is now. This seems to be a restriction.
