A long route also means numerous opportunities for short scenarios if you desire. The MSTS version of Donner Pass was one of my favorites and I am looking forward to this setting. Boy, wouldn't it be great if the RW version included cab forwards!

Perhaps this gives them a reason to update the Dash9 since they were introduced in 93?

I share your sentiment, Harry. A Cab Forward would make my year. Been asking for one for ever, seems like. Who knows, maybe Santa will bring one. !*YAAA*!

RSC is giving us a SP dash-9, along with the SD40 and rolling stock in appropriate schemes!

I see it the same way. Better too long, than too short.

If you want to see some present day Donner Pass action, including the snow fights, I can recommend this great video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyKiVxacSww

Oh, and did you know that "Donner" is the German word for "thunder"? :D

I know that :D

I was just inferring that perhaps this is their impetus to "upgrade it" to RW3 standards. I wonder if they are going to give us new rolling stock models or just repaints of the models already available?

oh my... I can feel my self slipping to the rivet counter side.

I think everyone is forgetting the Tennessee Pass which encompasses an entire seniority district, and the CSX Main Line, which if I am correct actually encompasses two seniority districts (with two more to be added).

Looks great, I'll be looking for this one when it releases. The Sierra Nevada area is really picturesque.
