UKTrainSim Texture Pack

Figured I'd post this in case any of our route builders don't checkout uktrainsim to often. This pack has a ton of ground textures:

What it includes: http://www.uktrainsim.com/FreewarePacks ... llery_id=7

!!*ok*!!

This is really impressive. I see a few that I need on my route.

Not having a premium membership it was a 6 hour download. But then after not being able to use the new textures,I found out you have to do all this file editing to enable them. Why didn't the programers set this up so textures are as simple to access as any other downloaded content? And why weren't there more ground textures to use "out of the box",so to speak? Am I wrong, here?

Looks like a nice pak; see some things there I could use. Something about this doesn't make sense to me though.... the paks are intended to "Significantly increase the amount of free content available ", but I have to pay to download it to use in a free route project. !*don-know!* (don't mention the free download path to me; 5 ports at 5Kb/sec is an insult to the railsim community at large!)

Nice work putting together that whole "Paks" scheme, guys (they even come in a custom installation wrapper), but I'm afraid I won't be using your assets unless they're posted somewhere else. *!sad!*

Which they are http://www.railworks.marleyman.co.uk/uktsfreeware.html and http://rw-trainsim.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=downloads;cat=143 are two of the other sites that host the packs.

Mind the subscription fee of three euro a month is, in my opinion, well worth it with the the amount of downloads on UKTS. And no i'm not connected in any way with UKTS apart from being a member there.

Edit, the two sites above might require you to register before you download.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I have it now from one of the other sites, otherwise it was going to be a painful 5 hour download.

I will only pay at uktrainsim when and if something interesting comes available, such as a new steam locomotive that also has a 3d cab hopefully, but if not I'll wait. I would say why pay for a month of premium if you don't download anything within that month. When new items start coming available again that isn't for MSTS then I'll pay again.

But until then, I'm more then happy to wait.

What do you have to do to get the textures to show up? Simply clicking on the object filter doesn't work. At least it doesn't for me.

I figured it out with the help of UKTrainsim.com.
I had to modify the RoutProperties.xml file with RWtools.
Change the following values under the TerrainBlueprint section:
Provider - UKTS_FP
Product - Terrain_Textures
BlueprintID - TextureSets\Complete_v1.xml
Then saved .xml file
Then I clicked Clear Cache under Tools & Docs tab before loading up RW3 completely

After modifying the TerrainBlueprint section it should look like this

This worked for me hope it does the same for you.

Thanks for the info on how to get the textures to appear. There is still a big problem, however: for an already started route, the order of the textures in the originally used texturing.bin file is now different from the order of textures in the new complete_v1.bin, so a different texture altogether will appear on the route. How to resolve this?
