Dead In The Water!

Unread postby kcs_fan » Sat Sep 10, 2011 7:36 pm

Last week my internet provider informed me that I had an invalid email account and address after four years. I was forced to create a new email account with a new address. Major pain to say the least.

Well, Thursday of this week, I got a Steam error message telling me that I was now trying to access Railworks from a new computer. I was not. They required me to have a new access code sent to me before I could access the game. Uh oh, they have my OLD email address that I can no longer access. I was able to change my Steam Support account email address with no problem but I can't get it changed in my Steam account.

So I contacted Steam Support Thursday.

A full 24 hours later (Friday) I received a message telling me that I had to prove that the Steam account and my Railworks software belonged to me. So I sent them a copy of my receipt with confirmation number, last four of my credit card and my full name and address.

It has now been another 24 hours and nothing. They don't get in a hurry to do anything do they? I AM GOING INTO WITHDRAWAL! ! !

Anyone know of a backdoor to get my email changed in my Steam account? ? ?

I had the same thing appened to me 4 times,I reloaded the game a few times to get it to work.
Personaly I dislike haveing to go throught another game service to play Railworks 2.
I have yet found any thing usefull about it, all they have done for me ( Steam ) is cause me grief.
And no..I didnt buy the game from steam, I used another sorce.
I believe I dont need to have to go trhough a server type company if all I want to do is play 1 game.

If you open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks you can double click on RailWorks.exe and start Railworks without Steam.

You still have to be logged into Steam for the actual game to run. The launcher will open fine, but the game itself won't.

Customer Service doesn't work weekends. Too me 4 days to get a hijacked account back. And they wanted all the same proof. But it got fixed.

Too bad Steam wasn't running when you switched your e mail address. You could have changed it in your Account Settings. The old e mail is completely dead? G Mail (as an example) will forward mail as long as the old address is still running. NVM, I re-read the first part of your Post.
