SD70 MAC or M?

UP only had SD70 M's, althouth they are almost identical to the MAC's.

Cheers for the confirmation. So the main difference between the M and MAC is the DC/AC traction equipment. Reading up, both came in 4,000Hp versions as well.

Could RSC take their SD70MAC from the Volume2 DLC that came in BNSF colours and make an M UP version? :)

yes, with only minor changes, although it depends if you want to do the early one or the late one. if you are going to do one do it with the flaired radiators instead of the flat side ones like on the mac, due to the fact that the SD70M with the flat side radiators is already being made by a member here, almost done too so if you guys did that it would kinda be like a shot in the foot for him.
some info on this version of the loco:

Starting in mid-2000, the SD70M was produced with SD45-style flared radiators allowing for the larger radiator cores needed for split-cooling (split-cooling is a feature that separates the coolant circuit for the prime mover and the circuit for the air pumps and turbocharger). There are two versions of this radiator, the older version with two (2) large radiator panels per side, and the newer style with four (4) square panels per side. This was due to the enactment of the EPA's Tier I environmental regulations. so basicaly this is the one we need. (not too much work for doing this, just a few minor adjustments in the rear and on the front windows.)

as i recall the early SD70m's with the flaired rads had a 3 window variation on the front.

Oh boy UP SD70M.... So many variations. Flared radiators with 4 pieces or none. Flat radiators. Phase I and II Cabs. Different control stands, decals set at different heights oh my!
