I can't decide whether to mess with this or not but I popped into the beta forum and see the usual suspects are bickering with each other and telling DTG they are fixing the wrong stuff already. This should provide some entertainment in the coming days and weeks to see how long it takes to disintegrate into the usual insulting one another.

Over half the comments to the announcement on Steam are also just complaints about how bad DTG is and thoughts that have nothing to do with the announcement itself. People just love to complain.
Entertaining indeed.

I like this announcement. Sounds like they are serious and committed.

I agree, the announcement is a move in the right direction which I welcome. Any support is better than no support with software of this age. I will probably let others dip their toes in first with the Beta and look at the results when it becomes more polished. It always amazes me how some folks who have invested a massive amount of time into this sim, thousands of hours, bash it's creators whenever possible instead of providing objective feedback which may help the sim become better. A lot of this is before something is even released without any factual grounds to provide an opinion. I couldn't help but be a little demoralized if I worked for DTG, reading the junk and stupidity that is posted elsewhere. Good on them for continuing with their work to make this sim better.

I wouldn't like to be a game developer. You just need to go to any of the many game forums to see all the negative comments that they get.

Some of these people must lead very unhappy lives to wish to pass their misery on to others instead of just enjoying the creativity of the game makers. I certainly understand and encourage 'constructive' criticism particularly when it's accompanied with suggestions or solutions but to just sit and complain about everything must take a pretty miserable outlook particularly when it seems to often include denigrating individuals who are the creators.
Back when I was working for a honest living I used to tell people don't come in my office complaining about something unless you at least have a suggestion about a solution. Of course that requires thinking and moaning about everything takes very little thinking.
!!**sorry**!!

We have a joke in New Zealand. How do you know when you have a plane load of poms? You can still hear the whine when you turn the engines off.

I'm sure not all but reading that other forum that shall remain anonymous it would appear that many many of the chronic moaners and complainers do in fact come from that lovely Isle. To be honest we have our share here also. !*lho*!

For me this BETA is the most stable version ever since the only release you had was on dvd / cd. Before I had a love / hate relation ship with RS/RW/TS/TSC. Of course my new killer laptop might have helped a bit too.

All in all the combination BETA + Official Payware Steam Stuff Only + New Laptop is a golden combination for me !

PS: Only thing that crashes the Beta on my system every now and then is alt-tabbing, but I can live without that.
ASUS Laptop Zenbook Pro 14 - Intel Core i9 13900H - 32 GB RAM - 1 TB SSD - 8 GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU - Win11 64 Home - 14.5" Screen @ 2880 x 1800 - Graphics @ HIGH. Having a great time running tough American diesels!
Currently running - TSC 2024 v77.6b

I have all the gunk I had before the beta now installed on the beta and it is still the most stable ever here also.

Wouldn't disagree with the "chronic" *!lol!*

If you mean UK Trainsim, there were a fair few...No idea about the DTG forums as I rarely go there. TBH many of the comments etc I have seen just seem to be pretty juvenile both in terms of attitude but also expectation.

Having been brought up for years on Microsoft Train Simulator and having spent most of that time fiddling with it one way or another in order to get it how I would like it, the shift from the get go to do the same with the now TS Classic wasn't too hard to contemplate or even undertake. Rarely been stumped and perpetually happy for a brilliant sim and providers who keep on giving (well, sometimes in exchange for a bit of cash).

So far so good with my own testing. The developers are on roll here, no stability issues.
