HELP - I've looked through your Workshop page for the Bergen, twice, and I can't find your mea culpa or the patch. Any clue as to where it is would help.

Geez I thought my workshop page would have done the trick as an answer station. Sorry Alan it's only partially effective. Go to the the discussions section. This is where I created threads on the manual, quick drives and my mea culpa. Which by the way I tried to avoid an obvious boner so I wouldn't have to reply to posts all day! But I do hope you find it Alan.

Thanks Americansteam! Oh by the way operation "rue the day" has exceeded expectations. Now I feel a little guilty.

pkz19 - By now everyone knows that deep down I am very fussy about how EL equipment is rendered. The things I look for first is Logo, Font and Numbers. Looks like you got it all even the font. I gotta compare to my source material. So, instead of me saying this looks great, let me put it in another complementary way! Have you researched other variations of ERIE and EL paint schemes for this unit? Are you considering it? How about some "Jersey City" grime and dust? Darn it I can't help myself: !*drool*!

Looking at this model originally and this repaint now reminds me of a few points I would like to bring up.

1. These were HEAVILY used in commuter service what we are missing is the actual commuter cars. Buzz a month or so ago inquired about them. These are called "Stillwells" and are by the same designer that did the New Haven Commuter coaches circa 1912.
2. If this unit and others and the other coaches were never done "properly" I would try my hand at model building to get them
3. This unit and others from Michael Stephan's site, in my mind, would be the basis for and expanded fully retro, 1974 route and all of the models needed to that.
3a. I would LOVE buy-in FINALLY by DTG or another affiliated developer to get this as DLC. Reason: Workshop.
3b. This would be the basis for a freeware or payware (to pay for other asset creators work) and publish that with an established 3rd party. I am in very very preliminary talks with DTM about this. Why DTM? Bottom line: he is the only one who has approached me. I have some concerns that need addressing before that goes forward.
4. With this unit, it also reminds me of how to weave RWA into all this with models, scenarios or the posting of the freeware version. RWA generously offered to do that right here. My concern has always been getting eyeballs and awareness of the route for maximum users on the route.
5. I am still holding out for DTG, though the flame of my torch flickers more weakly with each passing day. ,My Non-DLC U34CH which is only going on marketplace has been in QC for the past 3 months awaiting release. So, you know, that I have been nudging my contact, he states that a gentleman named 'Simon" is working on expediting this. And for the gazilonth time: I invested $1500.00 to get the source plans and documentation for the Pullman Standard Comet Coaches as a shot to get EL in the game with my U34CH Morristown line trojan horse. Unfortunately some young chick at NJT didnt like "old" NJDOT as it didnt conform to their 'modern " image.

pkz19 - I had to digress so I could do a data dump here with what is going on in my head . This is a GREAT model and FABULOUS repaint job. Thank you SIR!

Thanks Minerman but I can't take any credit, this is from the folks at Diesel Workshop; I can't even figure out how to repaint, let alone model *!greengrin!*

That said, they seem to be a doing a great job with the RS3!

I do feel all your frustrations about DTG though...a certain modeler released a widely used switcher that many of us love, and he made several additional liveries for it, and he's srill waiting on DTG to release the repaints. It's been almost 2 years...

2 years? That is disheartening and disconcerting. One would think that there would be in this other artists case as with mine, a financial impetus on the part of the developer. This inclines me to judge actions not words.
Denmark, smelly and all that.

Thank you again for bringing the model to our attention!

Ohhhhh. Got a better link for non Facebook people.

In my opinion these guys are definitely up and commers as content providers for TS. Their work is tight.

Yeah, it's crazy. He posted pictures of the repaints not long after the main model was released. He covered a number of my favorite roads and I would buy the whole pack in a heartbeat; DTG is missing out on revenue. But there was an inference that their strategy is to sit on repaints and release them with new routes, so heaven only knows when we will see the rest of them.

Luckily, someone on here already did the appropriate repaint of the model for this route...

I know biased..but blessed with this Lackawanna paint scheme that EMD came up with in the 30s. EL was smart to go from black on Frieght to this GMY scheme.

We have 2 freight scenarios and 1 passenger so far. I know scenarios take a while to put together. And I think we're going to get more. And this is so good for the route and for the builders. I am really curious to see what happens when the big Kahana himself takes on the Bergen. With so mo much to work with, I am very interested is what he chooses and how he attacks it.

Comments on my workshop and youtube are extremely favorable to this date as well as on the scenarios so far.

I'm gonna say, if you do scenarios and like visibility, at the moment, the Begen is the place to be. Again don't forget the new manual I updated on Friday. It's very helpful.

Carry on.

Does this line happen to be near Conrail's Beacon Line? Because there is this route on the workshop which is also in New York and looks similar to this one.

Beacon is on the Eastern side if the Hudson, while this line is on the West. Similar probably because of the old towns. After that it's subjective annnd I will leave it at that.

Beacon is roughly parallel in latitude to the Modena viaduct.

Good Evening Deplorables.
There is an upcoming open house to this place pictured below. If you don't know where this is ... you probably haven't been on the Bergen.

Event Date is one week from today, Sunday July 25, 2021 at NOON.
Facebook Linky:https://www.facebook.com/events/814566346111011/?ref=newsfeed
So, See the tower, make a donation and FIND THE MINERMAN.

Any of you mugs that DO find me, we will adjourn from the Open House for Lunch

My kind of joint!
DiveBar!.JPG

I don't see a picture of the bar but they do have Taps. Menu is straight up bar food and some "tavern' items, oooh, like a NY Strip!
Amesters is 1 block East of Waldwick Station. Parking might be weird as DiMartini Lumber is GONE and has been replaced with Condos. I will figure it out. Dad, I will send the customary beer shot via text.

Im thinking that Bar Tours of the Bergen is actually doable. I am down on that! *!greengrin!*

And on the 2,588th day, I looked around and said "this is good" and so I rested. But rest would be interrupted by a special day for contemplation. And so, it is written, that on this day, it shall be time for the Wednesday Route Report and Update Status, for this Friday, July 23rd, 2021.

Let us give thanks and review the update status report.

[ ] Incomplete
[ X ] Completed

Indeed it is complete.

Well, it is summer and I have been trying to find a way to work this one in. There are so many tunes I would play over and over again while building to get me into a time and place where I could create and this is one of them. Percy Faith does the theme from A Summer Place.

There is just something about watching and listening to a performance than simply listening. And this is one for all you of the Easy Listening set, I know who you are.

Don't forget this Sunday in Waldwick, New Jersey. Remember that tower cant fit all of you in there at once, so just form a mob at the bottom of the stairs so that I may ascend from the tower to greet my adoring fans. Speaking of Waldwick, my chief consultant (aka - the old man) reached out to me to inform me of some bar in Waldwick that was nearby and suggested that I call him. So, I do and his story goes something like this: "So we were working the Ford trick and you know, we didn't just work the plant. We ended up in Waldwick to work DiMartini Lumber or something, I went out to get drinks at a bar up the street. Inside the barkeep was unpacking topshelf liquor from crates" So, I interject and say "uh, huh, were they Dewar's White Label crates? The old man says "yeah you remember that?" "Yeah, you made like little tables out them, pop. I remember thinking it was how old fashioned it was, crates with "DEWARS WHITE LABEL SCOTH WHISKY" on them. So, it looks to me that the dive bar I want to check out after the visit is the same place my old man picked up some soft drinks 45 years ago. Spooky. I'll try to get a bar shot for you pop!

Let me tell you - it's really a small world.

On to other news - we broke 3500 subscribers over the weekend and we have another freight scenario that came out yesterday covering the Dundee Spur. Do look it up and check it out! Also, Schnauzapowahz was down on the Dundee this week on his continuing video exposition of the Bergen. As for me, I am enjoying the free time. Im thinking about some scenarios myself. These will be fleshed out on paper before I go building them. Safe to say, any work will be a long time off, its nice to sit back and enjoy the fruits of my labor. Until next time ...

Carry on.
