Fixing the core and/or porting to a new game engine was obviously a BIG job. Wonder just how long ago they started working on this? Perhaps this explains the delay in responding to some of our specific requests (demands?)... they didn't want to waste time building "luxury suites on a weak foundation." I applaud Paul's choice to implement a new foundation first, as opposed to building a technological house of cards and risk alienating all the fans.

I'm guessing RSC has gone way beyond anything EA Games ever intended for this "game".
As with any major move of program code to a new and better platform they have probably (hopefully) only scratched the surface of the new possibilities so far. Most time and effort has likely gone into the move itself with little time to explore new functions and features. The things I've seen of TS2012 so far appear to come from fundamental engine improvements. Just wait until they (and we) have had the chance to delve deeper into the fresh waters of the new technology! Who knows... maybe we CAN have accumulating snow, washable rolling stock, and shooting stars someday!
Cool. Very, very cool. Am happy to see that I chose the right train-sim product 3 years ago. I'm guessing little to none of this progress would have happened without Paul's investment and dedication. And, the fans' devotion, effort and patience; btw, in case you missed it, Paul IS genuinely appreciative of us customers and "home-party developers" for our part, too. Personally, I would like to thank those who could afford and spent lots of money on DLC, keeping this train on track through the rough spots and leaner days!
