Portland Terminal availability

Unread postby stlsf4003 » Wed Oct 10, 2018 3:52 pm

I've seen that there are a few routes on here and a few others sites that require assets from the now discontinued Portland Terminal route.

Now this throws a bit of a monkey wrench into the works for those of us that want to use these routes in a completed state.

So with that being said.

Is there a way to get Portland Terminal through other channels?

If that's the case, might as well remove the routes that use Portland Terminal assets from RWA.

Why is that? Hundreds of us if not thousands have the route.

Why? What about the people who already had Portland Terminal? Like me and a whole bunch of other people.

Not sure that is logical at all...I'm sure many of the site's members have the Portland Terminal Route and are able to take advantage of the routes you are talking about.

OK i guess i might have over reacted on that just a bit.

It just sucks that Portland Terminal is no longer available, cause i'ed like to give some of these routes a go.

And there's also the fact that new users who joined the sim after PT was discontinued wont be able to enjoy these routes to their fullest.

Get someone to email you the assets and route files. Kinda the only way you can get PT now.

I wonder if G-trax could release this as freeware now, like they did with the berk when the RW&A came out.

As you may know, PT was removed from distribution by DTG because of their evolving brand-name policy. I'm all in favor of the route being made available as freeware, as are primary contributors Michael Stephan and Dick Cowen. The PanAm SD40 will have to go since it's a rework of an RSC asset, and the route's files need to be generally checked to make sure there are no other Kuju/RSDL/RSC/DTG files in the package. I'll get around to this eventually, perhaps after Cascadian is released.
