This doesn't look good...

I've been a fan of Chris' work for years back to MSTS days. He has always been timely in making the necessary updates to ensure his equipment works in the different releases over the years. Short notice may mean we will have to be without his equipment for a short period, I have faith that he will make the necessary updates as quickly as possible.

So there might be some hidden snags after all?

I thought .lua was platform independent, but apparently .lua compiled into .out by DTG isn’t?
Wonder how that will affect the core scripts and DTG’s own products?

If I am not mistaken there will be a launch option added to Steam: start TS19 in 32 or 64 bits, this way each player can check the compatibility of his particular DLC.

I developed my soon-to-be-released CPRR 4-6-0 Buffalo on TS18, and it has a lot of LUA scripting. It's been tested by DTG using TS19 and works fine. So it's clearly not a generalised problem across all LUA scripting in TS.

I came to know from TrainSim-Steve post on DTG Forum that the version of Lua used by TS is 5.0.2.
The last release was Lua 5.0.3, released on 26 Jun 2006. There will be no further releases of Lua 5.0.
What version being used in TS19 would have to be checked.

This won't affect the Searchlight Simulations mod packs, will it?

Welp looks like DTG have screwed the pooch with audio on the 64 bit version and we'll have to make some updates to the packs on the website currently to reset sound levels.

Seems OpenAL32 is what is causing buggers, and I've had issues with it ever since I got a push update to my game outside of 64 bit that made EFX work as well.

Keep your eye out on the page here and make sure you have your purchase emails still backed up, because there will be updates post-October 11th.

Less than a week, and to be honest, the silence is deafening. Would have thought there would have been some hype and self promotion, even if this version doesnt provide much in the way of content update, you would have thought there would be something being said by somebody...

I'm not sure where you have been looking, but there has been tons of hype on the the DTG website, and social media platforms. They have a DAILY countdown on their Facebook page, weekly articles on their website, and a much publicized developer livestream taking place on Saturday night.

Australia is just an ocean from DTG's perspective (it doesn't exist).

Apparently Australia not existing is a thing - only found out last week when I saw an Isaac Butterfield video on the subject (DO NOT view if you are easily offended :D )

My apologies, I just expected to see more referenced here is all- I don't Farcebook and I didnt see a whole lot over on the UK forum either. Better have a look hadnt I... **!!bang!!**

No worries Oz. I didn't mean to come off as rude. A few friends and I were having the "...if I hear 64 Reasons to... one more time!" conversation just the other night.

The 64 bit update should go fairly well. There are a few 3rd party creators stating that beta testers have found a few issues. We shall see. Everything is backed up and waiting. !!det!!

I’ll probably just download it fresh once it’s out. I can download workshop routes and scenarios as I want more slowly. I think it’s time for a fresh install. Clear out junk from six or so years ago. At least maybe it will start for me again that way.
