Thats one perspective on it.

For me though, if the end result looks like an E7, runs like an E7, and sounds like an E7, then its an E7. !!*ok*!! Keep up the good work Buzz

Now that i think about it.

Just how dose one tell the difference between and E7,8 and E9?

Either way, this just means that we've got more E Unit's to play around with a re-skin!

The E8 and E9 were built from the same carbody as the E7. The E7 was changed from all previous models. The side vents and the roof details are the only differences between the 7 and 8.

Getting ready to do a paint job or two. Trying to figure out how to get rid of the portholes on the two headlight version since a lot of the E7's were two headlight versions but so far no joy.

From what I have found on single headlight versions, you have the possibilities of the GM&O, NYC/PRR/PC, B&M/MEC or the B&O...

It's possible to get rid of them, but it also takes some stuff with it, like windows, steps, and panels. I personally wouldn't sacrifice it.

I think I can deal with how to blend in the actual round hole you are showing in its original form it's the ring that I was having trouble making it disappear if I am being understandable. How did you get the ring around the porthole to go away?

Take away the porthole seams but add in the steps from the non port hole version. Could this be a possible workaround?

Thank you sir. Knowing the history of the GM&O this will for sure need a nasty dirty version.

I turned it off with a script. The only problem is that it makes a bunch of other stuff disappear with it. The porthole also uses the glass texture, so it gets rid of the windows. I don't know if there's a workaround for this.

I can color the background to essentially make the glass the same color as the rest of the body. It’s the ring I haven’t figured out how to make go away.
