What are you going to buy at the upcoming Steam Summer Sale?

Unread postby Brickrail782 » Wed Jun 20, 2018 9:52 pm

I'm planning on purchasing the Alaska Railroad, Sacramento Northern, Caltrain Extension, Bessemer and Lake Erie, and the Class 68. Also planning on purchasing a decent amount of third-party stuff too.

I'm not sure. Not a whole lot I'm interested in buying these days... !*don-know!*

I might be tempted to get either the Canadian Mountain Passes or Alaska Railroad, maybe the GP40-2 pack (if it's on sale), perhaps the Miami-Palm Beach just to get some sort of CSX action, maybe one of the GWR steamers (Star, Saint, or County Class), or something from the Marketplace. Just depends on my mood when I go to the store (I'm mostly a US simmer, but every now and then I have a British binge).

If I'm correct, brand new products are usually on sale for a while after release, so the GP40's might be on sale.

Just checked, they aren't. At least they're only $20.

At least there's a variety of liveries and rolling stock included. Makes the pack more valuable I guess. Shame there're only 3 scenarios included, though.

Things have improved a lot since then. Now I have much more control over what happens, hence the reason why UP119 isn't included in the sale.

P.S. Personally, I think the 119 package is already an absolute bargain, given that it comes with a route and tons of unique assets for free (it's the same US dollar price as the Jupiter pack which doesn't include a route), so I feel no need to discount it this soon after release.

I went ahead and bought Jupiter and 119 at the same time sometime in late April. Great locos (as always), and not too difficult to drive once you figure out when to whistle for the brakes.

I hope I don't cause the world to collapse underneath by asking this, but is there any way to obtain the Steven's Pass route legitimately in Australia? Apologies for the expletives.

I am not aware of a way of legitimately purchasing Stevens Pass outside the US. BNSF's word is law here. Sorry *!sad!*
