thank you!

I do have a question I want to make those radiator panels "see through" but Im not getting the desired effect. I get a see through effect when i use trainglass.fx but the the door panels and radiator panels are too shiny. I want what trainglass.fx achieves(leaving the texture in tact and just making it transparent) but without the "shininess" that texdiff gives when using the trans flag. Any thoughts or suggestions? Is there a better shader to acheive this?

Try TrainBasicObjectDiffuse.fx with Transparency.

Yes thank you got your PM

with regard to Kevins post I get an all or nothing response to aplha punching using texdiff or trainbasic... they are either solid or gone... versus a blended effect like train glass does. I guess im gonna have to punch a mesh into those panels so its see through and use texdiff or trainbasicobjectdiffuse for the punch. thanks for the advice guys.

Hey Ian,

I've been struggling to figure out how to get my lighting right for baking my own Locomotive models. Could you PM me?

Thanks,

Couple things: do we know if the game can handle 4096x4096 textures? Also is it possible someone has access or sounds to a tier 4 loco? I'm trying to wrap this project up in the next couple weeks. It's hard for me to track these down out in the real world but I guess I can try.

Yes, the game can handle 4096x4096 (I did it for the CalTrain F40 and the default Kuju tankers). I sadly don't have sounds though, sorry.

Tier 4 GEVOs really don't sound any different than a regular GEVO. Same engine basically just larger radiator.

That's what I was going to say. Same prime mover, different body look.
