No, as I stated in my post in the early hours this morning, it is the same as the DLC that already existed in DTG/U36BPack01. If you already had that then it will not have downloaded again. If you did NOT already have that, then you should now find it there. Also check the list of DLCs in the library. Set them in date order, and you should see the last two downloads as the E8 and the U36B (if you did NOT already own the U36B) or just the E8 (if you DID already own the U36B)

My Career scenarios load without a problem. Have you actually tried them, or assumed they won't work?

I tried all three scenarios and each state that I'm missing the SCL U36B and associated freight. I did not own the U36B prior to this and even after several reinstalls, it did not download the U36B and no folder is seen anywhere in my railworks installation. Nothing was present in the DLC list other than the E8s and all my other addons I got in the past.

Can anyone confirm if the whole U36 DLC is included, or has anything been left out? I'm assuming it doesn't come with U36 scenarios, but is all the equipment there at least? Is the locomotive fully functional and driveable?

As stated, it is the ACTUAL DTG/U36BPack01. So yes, the full loco, which you may already have or if not, will have downloaded (though it appears a couple of people found that download delayed)

Yep, the U36B now appears on my list of DLC and is in the game.

Would it be possible to add the new braking developed by Mike Rennie onto these? I'm not a fan of the brakes on them now.

No. That's all scripted, and wouldn't work with the blueprints without the proper controls associated with the script.

Hello, I'm curious of anyone has successfully replaced the included horn and bell with a searchlight simulations horn?

As I understand it, the correct horn for this is an S3L?

I tried replacing this horn with two Searchlight horns with mixed results (I usually replace horns successfully by copying over the appropriate HornControl.proxybin and HornControl.proxyxml files and then renaming them to match the default files for a given locomotive):

RS3L_Ex-CR: The bell works in this one, but the horn does not fully play. In the cab when using the horn it is quiet for the frst second then plays the end of a horn sound...I'm guessing there's something about the locomotive that is disagreeing with the horn.
RS3L from the F45 Pack: The horn works great and sounds perfect, however I can't get the bell to work using this one because it uses a separate proxybin and proxyxml for the bell and the E8 does not...I'm not sure if there's a way to reconcile that?

Thanks for any help...I have a hard time running locomotives using anything other than searchlight horns...it's a problem I have *!lol!*

Ill have to look a bit later for the S3L but I had the K5LA working no problem. I've actually changed the horn to my P5 hornsound that can be found on the library. It was recorded from an E9, the SP 6051.

Also the horn sound child object is too far back on the locomotive. In the loco Bin, changing the location from -3.45428 to 7.5 puts the child object in exactly the right spot.

Thanks, if a K5LA could be prototypical then maybe I'll give that a shot. The various sound enhancement packs have a few to choose from.

What impact does the horn sound child object being too far back have?

As far as being prototypical, railroads made their own changes when ordering units and even then their shops threw on whatever they had lying around if something happened to the original horn. IIRC the K5LA was released in the mid 70's so its not out of the realm of possibility that they were put on the Amtrak e8s.

As far as the horn sound child being too far back, that is where the horn sound comes from, so it does have an effect of how you hear the horn from any camera angle.

For example, if you are standing trackside and blowing the horn as it goes by, the doppler effect is thrown off because that change in pitch and tone doesn't change until the horn is already passed the point of view.

Its mostly an audiophile thing and it was driving me up the wall when I first ran the engine. Once I discovered why the horn didn't sound right, I'd figured I'd share with everyone in case they wanted the fix too.

Its done individually in each loco bin so you can always make the change to one, see if you like it then go and do the others or forget about and leave the others in place.
