CN SD75i crash

Unread postby Claude350 » Thu Dec 07, 2017 1:58 pm

I'm not sure if this has been addressed or not or if it's just me. After the TS2018 update and Windows 10 latest update the CN SD75i will not longer run. It has also affected the BNSF SD75 versions. I had to uninstall CN SD75 just to run the BNSF version which is required for the CN version. The scenarios would hang when loading. I reinstalled a few times, Copied over the appropiate eng and cabview files, ran the script fix and still it was a no go. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what do you do to fix it.

Where did you get the CN version. I have the Santa Fe and BNSF version and it works OK.

Run the scenario with Logmate and have a look at the end of the log file.

I believe this is the repaint he speaks of. If not, there is an older version by the same author.

I got it to work however you absolutely have to follow all the instructions exactly. I agree with chacal to run logmate and lets see what's going on.

That would be nice but the scenarios will hang during the load process.

Does logmate come with railworks or is it a separate download?

I might also add that when the unit crashes it locks up my system. I have to use ctrl-alt-del to sign out and log back in to my system which takes me back to the desk top.

I think I've found the issue. this file, SD75_I_BNSF.GeoPcDx, with the bin extension, was created in the engine folder next to the GEOPCDX file. The instructions say to rename this file to a GEOOCDX if present. How do I rename it and what do I rename it as?? Thanks in advance. BTW if I remove that particular file the unit and scenario will load. But the textures aren't what they're supposed to be.

That's what I was talking about following the instructions. Right click on the file and down towards the bottom of your choices it'll say 'rename'. Change the name to SD75_I_BNSF.GeoPcDX. It will ask if you want to replace the original. Say yes. Then copy and paste it into the CN_URL one also. That should do it. If it doesn't work get back here.

Yea what Buzz said. Sorry I was typing as you answered.

This is from the manual.
Rename the GeoPcDx.bin file in the CN engine directory to a GeoPcDx, then manually
copy the renamed file and paste it into the CN_URL Engine folder. If it asks to replace it,
allow it.
it means that after you run the special script for the repaint you may see a file called GeoPcDx.bin. If you right click on that file select rename from the menu that pops up and just erase the dot .bin leaving only the .GeoPcDx you might need to do this outside on the folder it's in then copy and paste it back in and overwrite yes when prompted to do so.

I appreciate the help but there is no GeoPcDx.bin in the folder. Every file starts with the SD75 prefix.

There is no file with just GeoPcDx.bin.
