Are you sure it's the same unit? It seems to have nicer textures than the old Kuju one. If it's a new model with advanced features I'm all for it.

It's the same old recycled mesh. Not even an updated cab..

If this is being modeled in an era where they still had Cabooses in active service it may be quite prototypical that the line is run by SD40-2W’s and not more modern power.

Having said that a future CN locomotive DLC with modern power would be very welcome.

I don’t think anyone is complaining about the choice of power, rather that the specific unit being included is a very old model that is certainly nowhere near 2017 standards for locomotive quality.

I take it then that you're a beta tester with first-hand knowledge and can indeed confirm that the cab is exactly the same as the old loco dlc from Steam?

It help's knowing someone from the beta team. At this point it still is the exact same old model as from years ago. Will they upgrade it before release? I don't know. Do I doubt it? Very much so.

That I would agree with. While DTG isn't making this route, I don't think Milepost Simulations would make very many changes to the cab. Maybe add a cab light function, but probably not much else.

Honestly I feel like DTG doesnt have the incentive to do any upgrades considering the quality a lot of our 3rd party people put into their mod packs. I think a texture update for the unit would be best since Searchlight did their light/physics pack.

I do hope the SD40-2W in the screenshots is the old DLC one, updated to newer standards.

Oh wow I'm glad I finally checked back on rwa for once, couldn't imagine missing something CN related. This has a good chance of me getting back into rw. Wonder if there will be any models of drilling rigs put in anywhere? I work around this end of the province and it's very oilfield heavy.... Nothing will set the mood riding the tracks at night and seeing a telly double or a triple lite up like a Christmas tree.
