Yes, his website is no longer available either, when you click on his link to go to it it says the domain is for sale.

Question, what happened to Lord Mannu period, what happened to his website.

Lord Mannu (aka Cesar Pach) is the principal owner of DTM and sells his locos through steam. He has neither disappeared nor stopped working.

OK people here's the straight scoop from the horse's mouth. I got in touch with Cesar and he abandoned the PA project because of no viable sounds for these guys. Sooo what we need is either some quality sounds from a RS-3 (Same prime mover 244) or if someone ever got a good recording from 190 even though it is engined in a 251 now. The better choice would be a good RS-3 recording. He said if he got sounds he would get back on it.

It could sound like a hamster on a wheel, or a Volkswagen beetle for all I care. It would just be nice to have some period power to pull Buzz's sleek passenger trainsets around. *!greengrin!*
I always wonder why no one ever made these or the E-units, classy engines.

I know just the company to give you the sounds you need. Get with ESU Loksound. They helped Searchlight Simulations in one of there most recent projects.

It doesn't matter since there are no 16-244's known to be left in the entire world.

So you are saying that not only are there none left no one ever recorded them ever? It was a long time ago but I seem to remember they didn't seem to sound much different than the RS-3 even though one was a V16 and the other a V12.

Mannu published his Baldwin RF-16 using the sounds from Reppo's Baldwin Centipede, because the engines are the same.
And yet, I have Jay Winn's live recordings of the D&H RF-16s, and other recordings, and they sound nothing like Reppo's sounds.
Admittedly, my samples are low-quality and were taken in less than optimal situations, but still they sound really different.

I think the sounds we hear from a working locomotive depend on more factors than just the engine model. I would guess the loco's car body and exhaust configuration has a greater effect than anything else.

In the game I have swapped the sounds from Mannu's FA-1 with those from the RS-11. They probably are not correct, but I couldn't care less: before, they were horrible, now they sound nice.

So my point is, get these RS-3 recordings to Mannu and who cares if they aren't from a PA-1 !
