BAD TRACK PROBLEM

Unread postby eyein12 » Mon Jun 20, 2011 7:52 pm

Not sure why this ever happened, but my track has some corrupted areas. confined basically to one yard area. i deleted track a while ago because it was missing. however the game stiull thinks its there. there are red square broken pieces intermixed with good pieces causing the train to use the missing pieces. what do i do?

Not sure if this related but I "lost" a siding and didn't notice it until my train was running on grass. I learded a lot about the land raising/lowering tools that day. I had been raising the level of some adjacent hills and brought the dirt and grass right over the track. It was right after fooling with the contour of the land that my track problems started. Now I have one siding that has no crossties and one is missing a chunk of rail on one side only. Trains still run ok on it.

I think the two are unrelated. Eyein12's problem sounds like a corrupt track tile (PITA to edit by hand, but it can be done). What you ran into sounds like corruption in a terrain tile (something I might be faced with now, and dread even peaking at).

well, i did a workaround. luckily there are only 2 terrain tiles messed up. but the ticket is they still work everything still operates fine. its just there are ghost track pieces. luckily there was only 1 spot i found where the ghost track connected to the visible working track and i just re-routed the junction and now everything is good. if you were to be in track laying mode you would see the area im talking about but actual game play mode you'd never know it existed. so everything is ok not worried about it. the ghost track doesnt show in 2d mode either so it wont get confusing.
!*salute*!
