A Question About What Type Of Signal To Use And How To Set It Up

OK. First of I have a general idea on how to place signals. However, I have hit trackage I've never had to signal before. Enclosed is a pic of the problem.

As you can see, I have a crossover going from the outside track, over the middle track, and over to the inside track.

I have 1 target signals for the tracks on the outside.

What type of signal do I need to cover that middle track so that when the switches at aligned for the crossover, the signal for that middle track goes to red?

And the second question is how do I set up the signal arrows when I place the correct signal down?

Thanks

The state of the switches alone won't affect a consist on the middle track... you won't derail no matter which way either switch is set. If this isn't based on a prototype, I'd be inclined to have two crossovers involving the middle track rather than a single one which crosses it.

If it is a prototype, I think you might need a custom signal script to look at occupancy of the adjacent tracks. It seems there is only a risk if a second consist on one of those tracks can cross the path of the consist on the middle track.

The whole thing got scrapped along with the track shown......

This is the Tennessee Pass 2 route. The yard in Salida, is WAY OFF to the original trackage. My API key clearly shows this. I had to realign all the track thru Salida. Not too bad of a fix. The track is in the right place on both sides of Salida.
