Here's the "Hammerhead" in freight car form !*drool*! !*drool*!

Lehigh Valley #211 is probably my favorite variation of all of the RS-3s, so finally seeing it in some form in the game is very satisfying !*YAAA*! !*YAAA*!
There's obviously still a ton of exterior and interior modeling to do; not just this model, but for all of the 10 (So Far) variations. I'm trying to finally get the trucks finished, but some areas need a serious remodel and more parts of the real-life trucks need to be added inside of the frame.
Hopefully within the next week or two, all current models will be exported into the game as "freight cars". !*brav*! !*brav*!

More on LV-211.

It is apparently a very rare locomotive. It started life as PRR 8445. Then it went down the PC/CR transition era eventually bought by the LV and renumbered to 211. Mechanically the reason for its "hammerhead" is to accommodate the systems for both a passenger steam generator and a dynamic brake system. The only way to fit both was to make the short hood taller. Accounting for the engine swap to a EMD-567 ripped out of an old e8/e9 explains the gp30/35/sd45-like control stand with selector handle it uses in the cab.

As far as I could tell the Western Maryland had about 5 of the design. CNW modified at least one out of a rsd-5. 211 is a one of a kind as far as I can tell with its engine conversion along with the hammerhead modification.

Note that the Western Maryland and CNW did not rebuild their rs3's with the 567 motor. So they still got a lot of the characteristic ALCo exterior engine components.

Ryan, don't dig yourself in a hole you can't get out of you already got a lot of models your trying to juggle at the same time. This was more to show some info about 211's design that I could find rather than suggesting even more models to make and program.

Lehigh Valley 211 before it got the engine swap and ALCo fan/exhaust replaced by EMD counterparts.

Now I know not everybody on here likes European trains, but this next version of the RS3 was inspired by this ALCo S1-
British ALCo S1.jpg

Here's my version of a "what-if" British import ALCo RS3

I'm not sure if it's current appearance will be the final appearance when everything is finished though. Like the vacuum pipes on the pilots (for dual vacuum/air brakes), the shape of the fuel tank, those style number boards and the MU cables. Let me know if I should keep those in the final model, Thanks *!!thnx!!* *!!thnx!!*

What liveries are you planning to paint on the current models once they're done?

Well the only thing I'll be putting out is Western Maryland ALCO's, so if you don't mind:
WM Hammerhead (Seen above)
WM RS3 (Normal)
WM RSC3.

Assuming Ryan can come up with a descent template set... I could easily see the community exploding and getting reskins made left and right for this thing like what happened with the s2 freeware and the ALCo rs1 payware model. There's gotta close to over 20 reskins for each one just on Railworks America alone. An engine as popular around North America like the rs3 which could be found on just about every fallen flag and modern short line in the country I'm sure a lot of people in the community would get involved and pump out all sorts of railroad skins, both fictional and non-fictional.

...Basically my point is; I don't think Ryan has much to worry about for reskins, maybe a few skins that would be accurate for some the existing Railworks routes and let the community have fun with the rest.

id say you could do 2 to 3 paints per loco and just release some templates for others to repaint.
Da Build: Intel Core I5-9600k, Nvida RTX 2060 Super, 32 GB ram, and way too much storage.

Sorry about the lack of updates. !!**sorry**!! !!**sorry**!! At some point last week my game decided it didn't want to work anymore after I downloaded some scenarios from the workshop. I finally got it working today! !*YAAA*! So progress on the RS3 will soon be getting back underway! !*brav*! !*brav*!
