Castle Rock Revamp

Unread postby ErikGorbiHamilton » Sat Feb 11, 2017 4:18 pm

Might as well throw something in besides numbers and sounds. This project goes back to 2014 when i did my first major route edit. Back then i was using the original Castle Rock route that came with TS2013. Nowadays i have much better experience with route modifying and i honestly think this is a good place to finally put it.

ASSET LIST:

SAC NORTHERN
CHICAGO RACETRACK
US LOCO & ASSET PACK
EU LOCO & ASSET PACK (<--- don't want this one but when i deselect it, it crashes my route no matter the save and deletes the tracks...)
VIRTUAL NEW HAVEN

Updated shots coming soon!

I'd get this, but I have 2 out of 5 of the included assets. *!sad!*

Anyways, I look forward to downloading this once I have all the required assets!

I know why the game crashes, as Castle Rock uses a lot of assets from it, the track being from York - Newcastle or London - Oxford, so sorry for bumping this post....just wanted to explain the crashing... I would love to download this, but I don't have VNH or SN yet... *!sad!*

I hear the Sacramento Northern is $27.99 until March 31st!! I would suggest getting it as it is one of the key routes i have enabled on my revamp. If Chiacgo and the Virtual New Haven are on sale i suggest you get those aswell.

Screen shots going up when i get home.

Very cool to see somebody having a go at Castle Rock. I've always thought that this route so much potential. The Colorado Joint Line is a fascinating place. With all that DRGW equipment in the game now that should make for some great and colorful scenarios.

Cheers

Where can I find some more info on this route? I was in the area last summer and was captivated by the fact there were lines on either side of I-25 and saw BNSF and UP traffic. What really caught my attention was the fact that signals where only facing one direction on each line. So I'm assuming these lines are separated by northbound/southbound traffic?

This line was called the Joint Line with ATSF/DRGW/CB&Q trains. In modern times, I run it as BNSF/UP. Google it...

BNSF typically owns the eastern line, and UP the western line. Southbound is typically routed on the UP line, and NB on the BNSF. Through Denver, and the southern suburbs, it is triple line until about C-470 and Santa Fe. It is a joint operation all the way down to Walsenburg, Colorado. At that point everything south of there is BNSF.

The Castle Rock revamp is apart of the my fictional railroad the Stratford Gap. From Monument to Castle Rock is one of two lines that make up the division sub. It is on this sub both West end and east end scheme units can be found. Although this sub is owned by the SGRR the UP/BNSF Trackages rights still apply to those roads. So in all you can see SGRR, BNSF, and the UP run over this line

my next big work project will be the replacement of the oil refinery at Larkspur with something else.

I see you have it going over on the BNSF Fort Wort sub to get to Oklahoma City.

Edit: Well from map one it appears that that is where the Fort Worth sub would be.

*ATTENTION*

I need two route editors to help with the route. I have hit a bloc when thinking of what to add at Larkspur and Castle Rock. I need two people to work these assigned locations (And maybe points inbetween)

YOU MUST HAVE

SACRAMENTO NORTHERN
CHICAGO RACETRACK
US LOCO & ASSET PACK
EU LOCO & ASSET PACK <--- No choice
VIRTUAL NEW HAVEN

I only need two so the first two people to post here who has these assets will get the route to expand upon.

Thank you,
~Erik "Gorbi" Hamilton
