EMD GP5 GP7 GP9 Packs; BM, GN, NYC, PC; Updated and Re-Released

Unread postby GreatNortherner » Thu Jan 26, 2017 2:36 pm

Hello,

Updated versions of my EMD GP5/7/9 models are now available on my website. The B&M, GN, NYC and PC Geeps are now on the same level as the NH GP9s from the Springfield Line.

The update includes:
  • much better exterior texturing, looks much crisper and more detailed now thanks to double resolution hood textures, completely redone normal maps, and remade shadows/highlights on the main texture
  • some improvements on the cabview walls, still a bit crude but better than before
  • added a cab interior model that is visible from exterior cameras

The engines are available on my website.

To update an existing installation of the Geeps, please simply redownload the rwp file and install it again.

Cheers
Michael

Indeed, please do! !!*ok*!!

Thanks for reminding me about the repaints. This model should be fairly easy to repaint and an updated template textures kit with the latest textures is available upon request. Just email or PM me please.

Even updating an existing repaint from the old version of the model to the latest textures should be possible if you worked with layered images in your repaint. Please get in touch with me if would like to do that and I'll send you some more details.

Cheers
Michael

Thanks for the updates. I'm really happy to have the NYC paints.

For those of you who enjoy Quick Drive like I do, here's a small package that will add all of these new locos to your quick drive menu. Nothing fancy, just light engines.

Thank you! I didn't know whether these would still be needed/wanted with the possibility of creating one's own QD trains in-game now, so I opted for being lazy and skip them *!embar*!

The in-game QuickDrive creator is buggy as hell and crashes often. I (at least) appreciate it!

Hey, I really like your GP9 models Michael. Is there a possibility of seeing a CR (in blue and ex-PC paint schemes) GP7 and GP9 with autonumbering in the future to go alongside the CR SD7s we already have? If so, I would be happy to download them immediately.

Thanks! I've been thinking about that myself already. However, no idea if and when I might get around to it. If anybody happens to beat me to it using the repaint kit, I'd be happy. The Penn Central pack with its mix of long-hood forward and short-hood forward locos should make a good base for a CR repaint. The cab numbers are already in the right place and size, too.
!*salute*!
