Thanks, Mike, but please take it easy. You know a lot of school kids use that street!

Seriously, Shafter Avenue is a good example of what happens when a city grows around an existing railroad, airport, or industrial facility. Many of SN's neighbors became resentful of the noise and danger of the trains, which often had to operate at very slow speeds in order to avoid collisions with the street traffic. This compilation of historic footage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-Xsq1ELjW4&t=20s will give you an idea of what it was like. The Shafter sequence begins at 2:49 and some real fun begins at 9:48.

Ok, excellent route, if I can go into a new route and enjoy the first Career Scenario, a freeroam and a QD then I can almost bet I am going to enjoy it even more as time passes. Nice work G-TRAX team. one problem I found, setup, QD- 1005 - San Fran -7:30 am - Spring - Cloudy, one of the sky textures is not showing.

hehe I'll keep in mind the slower speed through that section in the future.

What a fun route! The best routes to me are ones that are heavily atmospheric, and the SN route delivers atmosphere in spades. I've only had time to run the route once so far from San Francisco to Walnut Creek, but I had a blast reliving this long-gone interurban line. Thanks to the G-Trax team for everything they did bringing the Sacramento Northern to virtual life - I'm looking forward to getting to master the route in the coming weeks.

Anyone have a clue why this is happening?

I am sorry to say that your sky is falling.

If I had to guess a texture is missing from your sky dome. Are you using a custom sky?

It seems The Matrix has failed you !**duh*!!

In other news, I've made some minor tweaks to the Interurban MU and the Steeple Cab loco that may be of interest:

I am using the vanilla version of TS2017 with the SN route installed through Steam and have re-verified the install.

Absolute home run! You guys out did yourselves!
Thank you very much for all your work on this route, I'm still trying to reset my jaw, it fell off after my first run on the Sacramento Northern!

Do have a question:
When the SN left Cab Signal Territory at San Pablo Ave. did they cut out the cab signals or leave it running?
I ask because in the real world when we leave CNW territory which has ATC and cab signals we must cut out the ATC first or if we go over restricted speed the train will dump.

Again, you guys did an amazing job on this route. But then, you guys always do!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Many of those scenarios were developed along with the route, but rejected by DTG because they are in Standard rather than Career format. Not at all impressed by points, medals, tokens, etc., I much prefer to operate trains without being nagged; thus I say thank goodness for the Steam Workshop.

Prototype questions about station stops:
How did the SN trains position themselves at stops with little to nonexistent platforms? I'd assume that if a passenger in, say, the third trailer needed to disembark at West Lafayette, the conductor would inform the motorman to align the train there so that car 3's staircase stops next to the shelter. But if there were passengers in cars 1 and 4 who need off at West Lafayette, how would the train align its stop?

Also, since passengers could not walk between cars, was there an operating pattern that dictated which cars aligned with the shelters at scheduled/flag shops to make sure that passenger numbers were evenly distributed throughout the train?

In normal use, regular passengers would know that only car 1 & 2 would stop at their platform and board the correct car. It would be up to the passenger to be in the right car, not up to the Conductor to customize a stop.

"not up to the Conductor to customize a stop" !*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*!

Ain't that the truth! In between punching tickets, counting money, getting the doors, getting the wheel chair lift, reminding the Engineer of slows and Form B's, passengers asking questions, kicking the druggie out of the bathroom, comforting the lady who is crying and having the worst day of her life and just can't find any money, the kid who keeps trying to hide from you and avoid paying a ticket, you then have to customize a stop?!?!?! !*hp*! I'd loose it!!!

Sorry was I talking about myself?....I'm not bitter towards Metra *!rolleyes!*

P.S. Oh I can't forget all the nasty passengers who sneeze and cough everywhere so I get sick, then I go home and get my family sick !*not-ok*!

...I'm not bitter !!**sorry**!!
