With the coaches all exported, I'm working on another WP thing...

The tender needs some tweaking and then I'm going to look at figuring out the loco. Got a lot of things to figure out, of course, but the only way to learn is to try!

An MTP-4. Putting it in-game because I already have a model prepped. Unfortunately they require a bit of a route backdate to be correct on the FRC, only existing 1936-52, but c'est la vie. I'm glad we have a good WP route at all.

Note that those are the same asset, in the same scenario, both directly after being placed. No idea why one is sunk in the ground while the other is simply sideways. Trying to drive crashes the game.

Don't see how that would lead to the model changing orientation so drastically, though I did try it...Applied rotation and scale, and as a result had to redo the rods, which was odd because those were all rotation 0,0,0 by default... !*don-know!* Didn't clear or apply location because it screwed with animations in ways I couldn't fix without rendering the original function void. At any rate, resetting transform didn't do anything for me.

(those engines are facing opposite directions, by the way)

Something I've noticed...when I try to put the loco in quickdrive it says "No engine found in consist"...might that be why it crashes when I try to drive?

Have you checked to see if your axis isn't rotated, or turned slightly.

First thing I did, though I've had issues with that on the passenger cars and the tender, and they didn't act anything like this.

Hope you can get this problem figured out, perhaps Mrennie might know what could be causing this, I'm sure he probably saw the same problem when he did his first engine.

It might be in the blueprints, it might be in the position and orientation of the axis of each of the relevant groups/nodes (referenced by the blueprints) or a combination of the two. Since I can't see the blueprints or the model (source), and I don't use Blender, there ain't a lot I can do.

My advice is to start by checking the positions in the model first. Make sure each axis is exactly where it's supposed to be, that the model hierarchy is as it should be, naming is correct and so on. Make an accurate note of the positions of everything and check them against the corresponding entries in the blueprints. It's really not all that difficult, you just have to be careful.

Indeed not...I really wish I had more info to give. I suppose I could put the blueprints up here, but that's about it. I might try contacting James Horrex or someone else who uses Blender and see if they can offer any insight.

Okay, some quick tests:

That is a single object, which has location and rotation at 0,0,0 and scale 1,1,1. So there's no way I can think of for it to be in the mesh... !*don-know!*

Also, the dead engine looks like this at the moment:

FIXED! Now to add everything else back in.
