Finishing this up, just gotta figure out the texture files for the digits. Probably going to do a "Conrail Quality" version as well

Thanks! I don't believe Conrail had any GP40-2s in black as they were mostly delivered new, but there were some that came from Reading that were patched, might look into that!

Is this off of the VRC CSX primary pack or the VRC leasing one?

It looks nice! It really does. But, if I remember correctly, Jesse G from TheLocoShop had made a Conrail GP40 skin at one point, but he couldn't release it because it was against the VRC's EULA. Just a heads up:

- B). You are completely forbidden, with no room for debate or argument, from distributing your reskins if they are made to represent the trademarked logos, fonts, or other markings of the following railroads, their predecessors, or their current controlling interests:
Burlington Northern Santa Fe, LLC. – commonly known as BNSF
CSX Transportation
Norfolk Southern Corporation

And the reasoning:

The reasons for complete restrictions on repainting these liveries are two-fold. Number one, we hold the trademark reproduction licenses for these railroads, and will make our own decisions about which of these railroads and their predecessors will appear on our locomotives, freight cars, and other goods. We have done the legwork, agreed to the legal work, signed on the
dotted line, paid the fees, and have an artist in-house who does the paint work, so let us take care of it. The second reason is that under our reproduction licenses to these railroads, we do not have the right to sublet our license to you. This means we do not have the authority to give anyone outside of VRC permission to reproduce our Licensor's trademarks. Furthermore, we are bound by our licenses to assist these companies in any action against end-users who are found to be violating Company trademarks.
We reserve the right to add any future licensed companies to this list. At such a time, the same restrictions will take effect for those companies as well.

The EULA has since been changed I'll note since that conversation.

Code: Select all
– You are permitted to alter texture files to create reskins of other locomotive liveries for your own personal use.

At this time, we will not prohibit the alteration of texture files from this locomotive with the intention of distributing the Reskin to others. However, the following rules strictly apply:

– Out of deference to our licensors, we will not condone or participate in the creation of end-user distributed textures. No help here, so don’t blow up our mail boxes asking for some.

– You alone are responsible for obtaining permission to distribute railroad company trademarks. You are also responsible for obtaining permission to use fonts or artwork that others have created to recreate or simulate railroad trademarks. If you choose not to ask for permission, you are on the hook for whatever consequences arise.

– You may not change or distribute any file that is contained outside of the Roadname/Engine folder. Changing the core files outside of these folders could screw up the files that are essential to all VRC/U30C locomotives.

– You cannot, under any circumstances, distribute any shape file (GeoPcDx) that is contained anywhere in the U30C package. You must include documentation with your Reskin explaining that the End User of your skin must already have a legally obtained copy of the VRC U30C installed on their computer in order for the Reskin to work. You also need to instruct the End User on what shapes he needs to copy to make the Reskin work.
