My new site is up and running but I only have the Trainz page active at the moment. Over the next week I'll be adding the Railworks content like the bridges above and a few new goodies. Keep an eye out for the new content.

The link to the site is below.

I've just gotten around to adding the through and deck girder bridges to the RW page of my site. All I have left to add to the site is the bridge piers and embankments...these still need a little work before I release them.
Click on the link below and go to the RW page for the downloads.
Enjoy!

I've just finished a station for the North Shore Line Route.
This is the Dempster Station. All that is left to do is to get it into Railworks and get the night lighting done.

Thanks guys. *!!thnx!!*

I'm adding the final touches to the building. I darkened the cream color a bit and I'm working on giving it some night lighting.

I can't seem to get the windows to light up at night for some reason. Apparently the data I have about the topic must be out of date. Is there someone out there that can guide me through the process of getting the night lights to work?

Night lights on the windows are still a no go. No matter what I do they don't show up. I'm not getting any errors. I seem the get the lamps to light up but that's it. I don't know where the problem is coming from.

What shader would best to use for the windows and doors?

Well I've been at it for most of the day with no results. The day and night mode won't work on the windows.
I've discovered that when naming a group "windows_night" it won't work in Railworks. The files and names are set up right. If I take the name "night" off the end of the group name, it will work as seen in this first picture.

The only problem is that the lights stay on. I've tried to use just the "windows_night" and removed the day windows. When I did this, the windows where missing from the model. Also let it be known that through all that I did with this model, I never got a warning or an error with the Blender Exporter or the Blueprint program.

Here is picture of the Blender screen that shows the group names. Can you spot anything wrong? I can't.

Now for some unknown reason, the light_day and the light_night work as they should with no problems. These are the light globes around the building. The only difference between the lights and windows are that the lights have only one texture where the windows have a set of 6 textures with matching alphas...I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.

I've did many Google searches on the subject of using the TrainEmissiveGlow.fx shader and setting up day and night textures but I see that many of the questions on all the forums go unanswered. All the information that I have on the topic seems to be outdated.

Any help at this point would be appreciated.

Ok, I've found he problem. To all other building creators out there... Apparently you can only have one group named "day" and "night"! Once I merged the window night group with light night group it worked properly.

Once I took a look at the building I found another small problem. The light fixtures that hold the light globes in place are not showing. Once this is fixed the model will be released.

Sometimes I can say that it's best to walk away when you get frustrated. Yesterday was very frustrating dealing with this issue. But after I got some rest, a new idea to try came to mind. This time it worked out.

I'm now moving on to making realistic telephone/telegraph poles and power lines. After I figure all that out, I'll be moving on to realistic street lighting.

By the way, the Dempster Station is available at my web site.

Here is my first try at some telegraph poles. What do you think?

I think I'll turn the specular down a bit but other then that, I kind of like them.
