Okay another update.

Image

1. Can anyone see anything besides the trucks that's a major piece missing?
2. Does anyone have some pretty clear pictures of the standard truck that goes on these, preferably from an angle? Most I find are cutoff on the top.

These are two from the direct side.

Hmm, seems worth looking at UK stock, oddly enough; Thrall build stock for europe and the narrower bodies mean less obscuring shadows. http://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/p35509 ... #h1f0771f2 for example, I'll post any more angle ones I find.

These give you all the info you need http://www.sctco.com/manuals.html

Points to remember .. Not all stock use the same wheelbase or wheel diameter , check your drawings for the correct type . Barbers patents only cover specific components on trucks , sideframes are not covered in the patents so sideframes from different foundries differ in appearence even though the stamping says " Barber S2 " .

Ya need to add the door components , latches , locks , animations ect.

Hiya, thanks for the suggestions and help.

Here's the progress of unwrapping the body.

White objects are not unwrapped yet.

Hiya, I have finished unwrapping the body, except, I don't have latches on the door yet because I don't have a clear idea of what they look like. Does anyone have a picture?

And one last question is, how far are the axles away from each other on the trucks, does anyone know?

Truck centres are 40 feet 10 inches , wheelbase 70 inches , wheel diameter 36 inches , I'll dig in the boxes and see if I've got anything for those doors .

I've been keeping this in mind. However, i've never reskinned, or seriously painted, so this part is a little bit of a dark art to me...

PS, thanks g_nash for all of the help so far.

Hiya, I think all that's left is the door latch. Put them off until last.

The trucks are done, mapped and everything.

The whole model has to be named, then it will be ready for export.

Time to backup the source files.

Excellent work Alex, very nice indeed....looking forward to it's release.
Looks like you are on the better side of Blender now.....I guess you just need Hennings to update his Exporter for your version sometime soon.

!*cheers*!
