I have a Dell Inspiron 15,too.It just depends how much disk space you've used, and how many addons you have installed in TS.

You need to review your settings. That shouldn't be. I have a i7 and a GTX650ti Boost and I have almost no lag. Z97 motherboard which I'm sure helps but nothing like a 960 4GB.

When you say 'lag' Erik, is it all the time on all routes, or in certain areas and circumstances? (ie: Delta Yard on Stevens Pass)

Keep in mind that laptop specs aren't quite equivalent to similar desktop specs.

Have you tried turning your settings down some to see if it runs any better?

It is one of these. http://www.dell.com/nz/business/p/inspi ... -laptop/pd 960m is built into the computer. Your 650TI probably performs better which is a dedicated graphics card.

If you are not using the SSD for TS2016 then the HDD (5400rpm) on that machine is quite slow and could cause the lag.
I guess that you are making sure that you are using the NVidia 960 discrete graphics card and not the inbuilt Intel series - that can make a difference?

Trev
Thanks! :D Yes, I agree but where is TS2016 installed (SSD or HDD) and is the OP definitely using that video card and not the inbuilt Intel Graphics !**conf**! .
Some laptops will only use the discrete card on mains power and/or when an external monitor is attached.
