Train Simulator: CN SD40-2 Wide Nose Sound replacment.

Unread postby ZeroCNReaper » Fri Jan 29, 2016 5:35 am

Anyone know where i can find some engine sound, horn and bell replacements?
Not sure how but in the description of the DLC it said you get three different freight cars and the CN SD40-2 Wide Nose but i somehow ended up with a normal CN SD40-2 the CN SD40-2 Wide Nose and a ES44 in CN livery and think there was another but can't think of what it was right off the top of my head but the engine sounds suck as well as the horn and bell.
Looking for some .wav sounds instead of .dav for engine
Any suggestions or link would be helpful.

The two other engines come from an old CN DLC. I think it's no longer listed on Steam.

We have free replacement sounds here in the RWA library, and some 3rd-party vendors make payware sounds too.
For all my SD40-2s including the CN wide-nose, I use simer4's excellent EMD SD40 Sound Pack. The engine and traction motor sounds are awesome.
I also use Searchlight Simulations's SD40 RS3L horn. I don't know if it's prototypical for the CN WN and I couldn't care less because it sounds great.

Also, specifically for the CN Wide nose, I use exclusively Don (roinuj) Crawford's Canadian National (CN) SD40-2 Zebra Pack weathered repaints.

Also, get DavDecoder to convert dav to wav and vice-versa.

For about 8 bucks, this set replaces every single SD/GP40 out there just about and includes little details like the electrical relays and stepper motors and such recorded from the real thing.

Here's a video demonstration of all the new features. If you need any help installing or anything like that, let me know.

There is also the payware Oovee 40 Series sound pack, which also adds a prototypical K3L and 96k engine sounds. It even adds improved bogie joint and flange sounds.

When I click on the Buy Now button to purchase the sound pack from Anthony's website, it says sorry you don't have permission for that.. Am I missing something.
Thanks,

You do have to be a member of the forum to get it to work for the storefront, I forgot to mention that, sorry.
The process is pretty quick.

Do you know where i could find engine sounds for the ES44? The ES44 i have has the default GP40 engine sound as well as the horn and bell from the Portland Terminal route

TheAudioShack ES44AC Soundset; alternatively you can also copy the proxyxml/bin file for the Kuju ES44AC to it for proper GEVO sounds.

What is it in the Default ES44 folder or Cab folder?
Ask because usually they have more than one proxyxml/bin file.
